Perhaps you should talk to some women who were discriminated against before making that judgement.
I was paid substantially less than my male coworkers who were lower in the ranks simply because I was a woman. And yes, that was the only reason. I wasn't pregnant, nor in a relationship and put in more hours than my male counterparts. I didn't find out I was getting paid about 30% less until many years after quitting. Turns out, there may be a lawsuit brewing with quite a few women who worked at that company and experienced the same thing. So, I'm quite happy that this legislation was passed.
