It's her thing, but it's definitely not mine. Not a fan of Gaga, but I may finally be showing my age, and considering I no longer spin in clubs I am not a fan of most of the current pop hits. Give me old school anything... anyday!

And to your last point. Spot on!
I am actually a sucker for crappy reality tv, and it doesn't help that my fiancee also enjoys crappy reality tv so I have ended up adopting the shows she watches.

I know how you feel about showing your age, I always hate when I listen to a live album from a band I have from years ago and the lead singer shouts out "How you doing? London 1996" and I realize how long ago that concert was from and I am still listening to it like it is new.

Though it will be interesting when I one day have a kid and going through all their likes and trying to understand their music when they hit their teenage years.

And lastly, they are entertainers. Its not their job to be your child's role model.
I like Gaga, she is always doing some charity work. Don't be so quick to slam her.
The bold nailed it.

They are normalizing sexuality?

Is that what they're doing? Gee I thought the were cheapening sexuality while participating in the dumbing down of the American culture and people.

I don't have a million dollars but if I did I'd bet it all that neither lady gaga nor Kim Kardashian could answer more than one of the following questions correctly.

1. Who is the governor of your home state?

2. What are the three branches of American government?

3. Who was the first president of the US?

4. Who were the big three nations that fought on each side in WW2?

5. How many planets are there in the solar system?

6. What is ten percent of 5000?

7. What were the two sides who fought in the American civil war called and which side won?

8. What is 9 x 7?

Let's be honest, Kim Kardashian initially gained widespread fame for being a glorified porn star in a "celebrity" sex tape. She's found a way to turn that into the most unwarranted fame we've ever seen. I can't understand why people are so interested in these people that have no talent or nothing interesting about them, other than justifying their interest as "watching a trainwreck". Anyone who supports shows like Kardashians, Real Housewives or Jersey Shore are just making being a snob or a lowlife into a valid and lucrative career.

This issue was addressed perfectly on South Park a few years ago, where they went after Paris Hilton:
Bebe: Wow, that's really her! Paris! Over here!
Wendy: I don't get it. What does she do?
Annie: She's super-rich!
Wendy: ...but what does she do?
Red:She's totally spoiled and savvy.
Wendy: What does she do?!
Man: She's a wh*re.
We should shun these attitudes, not encourage them.

As for Gaga, her music is awful, recycled stuff we'll be embarrassed to own in ten years. She's more of a sideshow act than a musician. I've never seen a musician grasp so desperately for attention -- her whole act is screaming "Look at me! Look at me!" Gwar has more subtlety than Gaga.

Well as a former DJ (semi-retired in the profession, as I will still do the occasional wedding) I like a lot of different music, other than country! It just isn't my thing, except for maybe a handful of songs. I'm 39 and I feel blessed that I was born when I was, because I can appreciate a lot of the stuff from the 60s. I was little in the 70s, and came of age really in the late 80s and early 90s. So I have a wide range. I like old school metal, hair metal, classic rock, early 90s hip-hop. In fact being that my mix in the club was primarily hip-hop, top 40, and some house and techno I stayed up on it until 2008 when the last club that I worked in closed down, and that was the last club I worked. Since then I feel the current stuff has really gone down hill. My son, who is 9 has been exposed to all genres of music, because on a Saturday night we'll do music night, where it's just a big mash up! One minute you might hear Metallica, the next thing you may hear could be Dr. Dre, and then something from back in my parents day!

As for reality tv, I don't mind shows like Intervention, or the shows with Chef Ramsey, but I don't bend over backwards to drop everything so I can watch them.

Kardashian is a w h o r e. That's the image she and her mother have created, and that seems to be her only talent and behavior. At least Lady Ga Ga and others have talent as entertainers. Kardashian has become wealthy because television viewers are paying to look at her. Maybe not for sex, but for the opportunity to witness her depraved lifestyle.

Lady Gaga is somewhat talented and I kinda like her hits. The Kardashians and their ilk are just stupid and I don't get why people love watching those shows. Just part of the dumbing down of America I guess.

I don't have a million dollars but if I did I'd bet it all that neither lady gaga nor Kim Kardashian could answer more than one of the following questions correctly.

1. Who is the governor of your home state? John Kasich Ohio

2. What are the three branches of American government? Legislative, Executive, Judicial

3. Who was the first president of the US? George Washington

4. Who were the big three nations that fought on each side in WW2? The United States, The Soviet Union, and Great Britain

5. How many planets are there in the solar system? This depends on who you ask. I learned there were 9. Now they're saying Pluto doesn't quite meet the qualifications to be a full fledged planet. So it's up for debate. Here is a tidbit for you, do you know that some of Pluto's orbit at times takes it closer to the sun than Neptune which is the 2nd farthest?
6. What is ten percent of 5000? I freakin' hate math! But it's 500.

7. What were the two sides who fought in the American civil war called and which side won? The civil war was fought by the Union (north) vs the Confederacy (south). The Union won!

8. What is 9 x 7? Again... I hate math, but the answer is 63!

I had to answer for fun. And because I can!

Congrats no1brownsfan, you're smarter than lady gaga and kim kardashian. Although you did slip up on number number four as the question asked for the nations on each side (ie. both sides) which on the axis side were of course germany, italy and Japan.
