I had a friend, great guy, get arrested and falsely charged at the May Day protest. He was charged with felony assault on a police officer and resisting arrest. Very serious charges that can get you long stays in jail. He was held over a month without a trial (during the period NDAA was overturned I believe) in which video was released by fellow protesters showing that my friend did nothing.

The charges were later dropped but after he spent over a month in jail. All for protesting.

Was that in Chicago? And people tend to malign Chicago as being crooked through and through. Shame on them. See? The cops let him go. They're good guys. (besides, there was a video, thank goodness!).

The Russian Orthodox Church has asked Vladimir Putin to protect Syrian Christians.

" When Vladimir Putin sought support from Russia's religious leaders in his recent presidential election campaign
he pledged millions to reconstruct places of worship and for religious schools. The Orthodox Church said it did
not want the money, but asked Putin to promise to protect Christian minorities in the Middle East.

"So it will be," Putin said. "

What a good man. Obama should be like him. Wait! He is!

Two precious gems in an unfair world, standing up for the noble cause of freedom and against oppression.

(as long as it serves their purposes...)

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has called for three members of the punk band ***** Riot to be freed, saying further prison time would be "unproductive."

Medvedev's comments on Wednesday could signal the band members' imminent release as their case comes up for appeal on Oct. 1.

The women had already spent more than five months in jail when they were convicted in August of "hooliganism driven by religious hatred" and sentenced to two years in prison.

They were arrested after performing a raucous prayer inside Moscow's main cathedral asking Virgin Mary to save Russia from Vladimir Putin. The imprisonment of the women has drawn protests around the world as it highlighted Putin's intensifying crackdown on dissent.

Wait a minute, Putin jails "members" of a p*ussy riot.

Shouldn't he have jailed himself?
