Such an ironic twist. Yes, Iraq, of all countries, is aiding Iran to keep the money flowing into their banks.
Iraq is also letting Iran use their airspace.

When push comes to shove, the ME countries will stick together over listening to what the US tells them to do.

We are such fools as to think we can control their actions.

Still, the administration has held private talks with Iraqi officials to complain about specific instances of financial and logistical ties between the countries, officials say, although they do not regard all trade between them as illegal or, as in the case of smuggling, as something completely new. In one recent instance, when American officials learned that the Iraqi government was aiding the Iranians by allowing them to use Iraqi airspace to ferry supplies to Syria, Mr. Obama called Mr. Maliki to complain. The Iranian planes flew another route.

Ironic? Anyone who had a functioning brain cell in 2003 foresaw this. Who did folks think was going to assume control of Iraq in the post Baathist era? Shiites have always been the majority. The Shiite parties were all founded, trained and financed by Iran. You had to a complete idiot or the idiot child of an otherwise pretty smart family not to see this coming.

Not ironic to me.

We're doing the very same thing in Afghanistan.
And I blame both parties here. No one person can be blamed for this.
And the war drums beat for us regarding Iran and Syria too.
We spent a lot of money bombing Libya and we've yet to see how they turn out.

Iran is not a security threat to Iraq and at least 60% percent of Iraqis get their religious guidance from places like Oum in Iran. On the otherhand the United States of America is a genuine security threat to a majority of Iraqis and has killed nearly 100,000 of them in the last decade! Iraqis are not stupid like Americans you know.
