By now we know that the far right wing has completely hijacked the traditional republican party. Moderate Republicans are labeled either as left wing liberals, RINOs or in hiding. The traditional Republican Party is a thing of the past.
So what would the country be like if, after four years of far right republican rule, they were able to pass every item in the far right political wish list?
1. Social Security would be eliminated and all employed people would be required to contribute a portion of their payroll to a government regulated mutual fund. Current recipients would be required to take massive cuts to existing benefits to keep the existing fund solvent until they died.
2. Obamacare would be immediately abolished and vouchers would be issued in place of medicare thereby putting senior care completely at the discretion of private insurers with no garentees of coverage.
3. Medicaid would be funded completely by the states or not funded at all if they so chose.
4. Food stamps would be abolished
5. All 12 million illegal immigrants would be immediately rounded up nationwide and sent to their country of origin. This would include anchor babies. Black SUVs with tinted windows would prowl the streets at 3AM looking for suspected illegals and kicking in doors.
6. There would be a manditory national ID card with regular random checkpoints to insure that no future illegal aliens ever enter the country again.(Papers please)
7. All welfare recipients would be required to pick fruits and vegetables that the illegal aliens were picking. They would be relocated in special roving camps that would go where the crops were being harvested.
8. The FEMA camps would be activated for the now disenfranchised seniors. Current generations hate the boomer generation and feel it is their just deserts.
9. Parents would be turned away from their childrens doors at thanksgiving in case they decided to stay, as they had no money and nowhere else to go.
10. All abortion would be illegal in any form at any time. Unwed mothers of newborns would be required to seek assistance from their local church group.
11. Christianity would be the only approved religion of the nation.
12. Gun purchases would be made extremely restrictive for future purchasers. Those already with guns would have their's grandfathered in. This would keep left wing anarchists from commiting violent acts against the ruling party.
13. War against Iran would be declared. It would spread to the entire Islamic world.
14. All foreign aid to all countries for whatever reason would immediately cease with the exception of Israel, which would triple.
15. All males between the ages of 18 and 44 would be required to register for the draft and be required to serve in the armed forces unless they paid a very large fee for a deferment.
16. A border fence 30 feet high would be constructed along the entire border, both north and south. It would rival the Great Wall of China in size, complexity and cost.
17. All social needs would be handled through Christian churches.
18. Only those who owned property or businesses would be allowed to vote.
19. All mineral and fuel rights on all property, either public or private would be owned by the government and all drilling or mining for our resources would be exploited/utilized to it's maximum effect.
20. All government regulation concerning financial institutions would be recinded.
21. All government regulations concerning envirnmental controls, food inspections or business transactions would be eliminated.
22. Education would revert to the parents and private institutions. The state would have no responsibility for educating the children. If you have the money for school then you can send your kids to any private school you like. If not you can choose not to have them educated at all. Christian churches would provide books for homeschoolers.
23. Capital gains would be taxed at 0%, while all loopholes and deductions would be eliminated from the tax code for middle class taxpayers.
24. Infrastructure would be funded by local co-ops of citizens who would be assessed an annual fee for the maintenence of their local roads and bridges.
25. Women would be required to conform to social moral standards established by the state sanctioned religion. Churches would be empowered to levy fines and punishment for local violators in their parish.
26. The bible would replace the constitution.
27. The minimum wage would be abolished.
28. Homosexuality would be declared a crime and subject to fines, jailtime and reeducation camps.
These are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head but, Every single one of these items has been seriously proposed by our far right wing counterparts in different threads here on C-D at one time or another.

Sure. Actually, you can just make a list of all the things the far left people posting on CD have proposed. That would be interesting. Of course, it seems to me that the far right wing folks beyond this forum do have considerable influence in the GOP at this time, especially with Paul Ryan selected for VP.

Here we go again. "Far right" in your eyes is a guy who wants to control the debt and fix medicare, SS and the like. That is not extreme that is common sense. Anyone who doesn't agree with getting spending under control is an extremist in my book.

You make too many careless generalizations..........I don't see a "guy" who wants to control the debt and "fix medicare, SS, and the like" generally as "Far Right"........however, I do specifically see Paul Ryan's proposal for so-called "fixing" those things as extreme and ultimately a way to increase the wealth of the super rich while requiring the less fortunate to pay the bill so to speak. I think that is definitely "Far right"...also Paul Ryan is a Tea Party darling....and I do consider the Tea Party "far right."

The far left hasn't taken control of the Democratic party, but the far right has done so in the Republican party. And many of these points, while ridiculous, are based on actual far right positions, both of voters and of elected officials.
That's why it's not trolling.
People vote on what they hear and read in their local newpapers, alot of people are not on the web and they do not have a great interest in politics, they are not on City Data
Cars and airplanes will become the only methods of transportation within the US. Ships will be allowed for international/crusining purposes. All public transportation and it's funding would be abolished immediately. Those who do not own a car or who don't wish to will be given a credit to help them get a vehicle.
