It will still not be true.
stinkofnyc would believe anything. The question is, where is the proof? There is none. We are in worse shape today than when Obama took office. Obama owns this economy.

The ultimate proof is all the Republicans which bad mouthed it in public secretly lined up in private to get local projects funded. It's telling that Bush jr ran not one but two stimuluses (one after 9/11 and one in his last year), that Clinton did one right when he took office, that Bush Sr did one in 1991 when the economy started to dip, and Reagan did a huge one to get us out of the 1982 recession. Stimulus programs put people back to work and everyone agreed when Republicans were in charge but, magically, when the half black guy was elected Republicans mysteriously rejected standard economics and started pushing policies which would make the economy worse. It's like they were deliberately trying to crash the economy for political gain. Republicans wouldn't do that, would they?

Even the admin at one point seemed to concede that the "stimulus" did not work. Remember that the admin's econometrics had projected a sub-8% unemployment rate if it passed. At some point they apparently decided that it had become such an albatross that they decided to stop using the word "stimulus."

The government can't spend it's way to prosperity. We already spend more than at any other time in history yet unemployment hovers around 10% and more people are on food stamps than at any other time in history. Obamastimulus did not usher in the good times. This isn't due to Democrats or Republicans or anything partisan. It's simply because Keynesian economics are flawed from the get go. Until America breaks it's dangerous addiction to Keynesian economics we'll continue down the road to perdition.
I think that's a copyright violation above. I could copy & past huge excerpts from The New New Deal too, but I think that would also be a copyright violation. Plus I was talking about specifics of the stimulus programs, not a discussion in re Keynesian economics.

It should have all crumbled so it could be rebuilt.

Right wingers are pretty good at telling us how Obama has put us in the toilet but I have never heard a single one of them tell us how it would be different if McCain had won the election even speculatively

Conservatives elected officials believe and push for stimulus. They did so in 2002, they did so in 2008 and would do so again.

Conservative elected officials are lying about the stimulus.

Now conservative voters believe those lies, because they intensely dislike President Obama.
