The problem is that the wrong people have been in Congress for maybe a hundred years and perhaps longer. We keep electing people who promise us gifts of grandeur but ultimately fail to deliver. And somehow, who knows why, we re-elect them because they "need more time" or are "working hard to fix things." Y'know, excuses. Until people wise up to the sham these buffoons are putting on and the media that shills for it all, we'll never have significant progress and reform in this country. You get what you vote for, folks.

Oh, Lord, me, too. And every time McCain said, "reach across the aisle," I wanted to knock him off the face of the earth.

Let them squabble all day and all night. It's when they compromise that bad things happen.

I think that Congress, with very few exceptions, doesn't really give a damn about the rest of the country. They're bought and paid for by political action committees like AIPAC & care more about them than about any of the rest of us. And it doesn't help that most of American voters are just so damn dumb that they can't even see what's going on. You can easily identify them. They're the ones always calling others Liberal or Conservative or Democrat or Republican.

NOT ruin the economy by trying to run it for starters. They don't have a very good track record now do they?

well, government employees ARE here to help you. they will help you empty your pockets, bank accounts, and financial accounts of your money so they can send it to those that "need it" more than you.

really? so the group that HAS passed several budgets, a number of jobs bills, as well as many other bills and sent them to the senate where they languish to this day with NOTHING being done about them, and you are concerned about the house? the senate is what is holding things back.

in the end however, the intent of the founding fathers was for congress to move slowly.

Perhaps this is true... unfortunately, we face major obstacles as a nation that can only effectively addressed at a national level. Health care, debt, energy, foreign policy are just a few examples.

The laws passed by our government the government politicians are exempt from, why should they care about citizens?

huh? dem control and the presidency and the dems got nothing accomplished!!??

it is not business as usual with the great divider offering a brand of socialism vs capitalism.

it is life or death and there can be no compromise and the dems know it and ensure no debate to act out obama's lament that he would have accomplished so much more if the legislators, the representatives of the people, specifically the republicans would have capitulated and surrendered the country as we know it.

when obamacare was passed, only the dems approved it and never even read it or understood it. they passed it without doing anything, without carrying out their responsibilities.....they acted as an elitest political class as they forced legislation on America just to pass it to see what was in it.

See that is your problem, selective vision. I blame the Senate for not dealing with the House in a manner that the two can come to a compromise and sitting on Bills until they die, that is not doing the Nations business. As for the House, passing Bills that are so partisan that only an idiot would think the Senate would pass it is also Not doing the Nations business. Our system was built upon compromise between the politcal parties, when that stops the Nation's business is not getting done and the Nations suffers for it. The thing is the Repubs have openly stated that they have no intention of compromising on anything with the Dems, that puts the ball in their court. So we either continue with what we have, or we vote in the Repubs and learn to live with their extremist agenda, or we can vote against them to ensure they do not get more power and possibly even reduce their power, I will go with the last choice.
