I didn't support this war from the beginning, but at this point, we can't be leaving empty handed.
So for you, victory is oil.

Defeat is no oil.

No nonsense from Badfish.

It's too bad you've been drinking the neo-con/Dubya-flavored Kool Aid. Wasn't it Dubya (or was it Rumsfeld) who said at one point that "we don't do nationbuilding."

What about all the other important nations, including key oil exporters to the U.S., who are run by dictators (Nigeria, Venezuela, even Russia)? When's Dubya going to do regime change there also?

It's all such a crock. You've got to learn to see through it.

Invading Iraq was about OIL and ISRAEL's security.

Back off, love monkey. I said that's what victory would look like. I don't think WE will EVER get there and if it were up to me I'd have all the troops out tomorrow and I'd make Bush and his daughters spend his last 13 months over there. I know perfectly well what this "war" is about.

BTW, I'm one of those scary liberal women referenced on another thread.

I like your approach. You make victory sound inevitable.

It all depends on how long a view you're willing to take...

Not sure whether that's a compliment or an insult.

In any case, I'd rep you to get you to 100 but they say I have to spread it around first.

You got it. Control of oil = security, Wealthier/more equitable society = happier Iraqis. Very simple.

America may have a hard time finding a properly suited puppet to run Iraq. Like one who will be pro-Washington and pro-Israel. Where is Washington going to find someone like that?

Hold your horses. We have to figure out how to get rid of Maliki first.
