Would be interesting to see where this "we can't wait" money ends up. Sounds like a political slush fund being released. Obama been crying about donations lately may as well use taxpayer money to fund his lies.

"The administration has waited three years and seven months to implement a new “We Can’t Wait” project that redirects unspent appropriations to fund new construction projects.
The wait delayed the spending announcement until 11 weeks prior to the November election.
The announcement is part of the administration’s “We Can’t Wait” effort, which highlights the president’s authority to change spending, law enforcement priorities and regulations, independent of Congress and the courts.
The redirected $473 million includes funds from appropriation laws passed up to 10 years ago, Josh Easton, the White House’ deputy press secretary, announced Aug. 17."

Got to hold somethiing back for near election time.
This administration is not stupid. You think Congress today would pass any spending bills ?

Now he has a feather in his cap and will immediately tell the public he's right there with you helping to create jobs.

So you oppose this spending for building roads and bridges as well as repairs?

How would you suggest such projects be funded? Or do you think the roads and bridges around the country do not need repairs and that we do not need any additional roads and bridges built to support small and large businesses?

Even Obama sees he will not get re-elected. He is spending the US into bankruptcy as fast as he is able. Again Obama makes rules and spends by-passing Congress completely.

So you oppose funding for these projects which will create jobs at this point? Who cares if it's election time. People need jobs whatever time it is, and the roads and bridges need repair and additional building. The TRUTH of the matter will be that he is helping create jobs by releasing this money for the funding of those construction jobs. It's the simple truth. Or would you prefer private funding of such infrastructure and private companies building it in places where the citizens can afford to fund such things?

ROFL..those roads got built and repaired with the 2009 stimulus remember ?
That was for "infrastructure".

Do you know how long it takes to build a bridge ? It's years just in the planning stages and that's after a city gets bond money to do that planning.

My mouth drops at the naivity of people thinking a bridge can be built immediately based on the promise of "some" government money.

Was he supposed to get approval from the Congress in order to release these funds? What are the rules he made up regarding this release of funds for construction projects?

Do you have a crystal ball? How to you "know" that Obama will not be re-elected?

So what if it takes years to build a bridge? What's wrong with starting that work NOW? Everybody knows that these things require planning! Btw, I certainly didn't say a bridge could be built immediately. The sooner the process is started, the better.

My mouth drops at the cyincism of those who constantly cry that the country is going to hell in a handbasket even in the face of efforts to repair the economy. It think it's really a matter of being ANTI-OBAMA, no matter what the does.

No .. I think it's more an act of desperation in that Obama knows he's close to not getting a second term .. He's acting like a President that has already lost to the other guy .. doing goofy things, or things he could have already done but didn't.

This is, IMHO, a "just in case" move on his part .. He may not have a second term in which to do this.
