Sigh... I fear for our youth.

If you don't want to sign up for the military, don't. However, considering that the target age of military recruitment is the same as the target age of college enrollment, it makes sense for the military to recruit from college campuses. And guess what? Serving in the military will pay for your college.

There is absolutely no reason why the military should not recruit at college campuses.

Of course they should recruit at colleges. People attending college should be bright enough that they won't sign on the dotted line if they object.

If it's a public school, absolutely. Even if it's private, I would not want to see military recruitment banned from the school. The military protects all of us, and we're all paying it.

Yes, they should recruit as college campuses.

For many it presents a great opportunity to get some work experience under their belt, learn some additional skills, save some money, further their education, and enter the civilian workforce as a stronger candidate in a better position after their stint.

If this student doesn't agree with their mission then he is free to decline, I think PETA are a bunch of jackassses but don't believe they should be banned from recruiting on campus either.

A career in the military is as legitimate as any other career so if a campus allows recruiters from corporations on campus then I see no reason to disallow the military recruiters.

If companies are permitted to do it, why would the military also not be permitted? It's no more or less of a political statement than is working for any other employer.

But I think that some people would like it to be a political statement so they could object to it based on the political statement that they want to think that it represents.

ROTC is really big at some schools. Kids have a choice. They don't have to join.

They're not abducting students and forcing them to join the Army. They're simply handing out information to students that are interested.
