Murder is simply a legal term. Single legally the majority of abortions are not illegal the majority do not fall under this legal term.

Murder is used in the same way as the word "ilk" or claiming you have no standing because you haven't adopted a half dozen kids is used by others.

What do rapists like more than control and power? Scary thought. Being raped and helpless to rid your body of an unwanted pregnancy. Oh, right....a woman's body has ways of doing that for "legitimate" rape...isn't that what these folks think?

I think is very much because of religion, maybe only because of religion even. I don't know any atheist or agnostic that radical. Such people pretend to know what gods want and thus are too blind to see that their whole view of the world based on religion is just an illusion, one of many opposing ones.

Religion. Yes. It seems to be working well for women's rights in Iraq, and Iran. No abortions for any reasons there either. I never knew we would be embracing those countries as models for our own social policies.

As an atheist, I agree. But then, I think people who claim to have a firm understanding of what does and what doesn't constitute a life/a person in the context of the abortion debate are just as silly.

This is why one of the nicknames for the religious right in the US is the "American Taliban."

Same ideology, different location.

In the United States viability presently occurs at approximately 24 weeks of gestational age (Chervenak, L.B. McCullough; Textbook of Perinatal Medicine, 1998).

Today, the prospect of survival is only about 1 in 10 at 23 weeks, and if the child lives it is more likely to be handicapped than not...Considering this data, intensive care should be an optional choice for fetuses at 23 and 24 weeks of gestation and should be offered to every fetus at 25 weeks or more.

Excuse me, why is it OK to say rapists want power and control but it's not allowed in here to say anyone else wants power and control???????????

Decade old sources are generally not the best option. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt here.

According to studies between 2003 and 2005, 20 to 35 percent of babies born at 23 weeks of gestation survive,

Even this is old and if one wanted to take the time, we would likely find that this number has continued to increase.
