singlepayer would cost between 3 trillion and 6 trillion EVERY YEAR (we already spend 1 trillion so the NEW added cost would be 2-5 trillion)

we have 140 million tax FILERS, (of which nealy 50% dont pay anything)

3 trillion divided by 140 million is what.......$20,000
6 trillion divided by 150 million is what......$40,000

thats between 20k to 40k PER TAXPAYER.....CAN YOU AFFORD THAT
Well keep footing the bill with your company. Actually the funny thing is how universal healthcare seems to work better in other countries. Also, you would be able to afford to pay people more to help offset the tax to taxpayers so that we all cover the cost for healthcare for everyone.

But hey, if you are cool with footing the bill with your company then I don't feel sorry for you when the cost of living goes up and the federal government calls for the minimum wage to go in in an attempt to match that. If the minimum wage had gone up according to inflation we would be at almost $15 an hour for minimum wage.

Not all always the case. Nice of you to paint people with a hard ass attitude and assumptions. In my line of work we are told reach for more sales, get more customers, sell...sell sell...yet there have instances where people on commission tried so hard and and brought in so many sales that the company cut their commission saying "whoa you are making too much". The company didn't complain about the increased profit brought in by those motivated salesmen though....oh no. Companies can put a price level on a job description no matter how well or how good the employee is.

Because companies dump these people on the rest of us who then become human externalities of criminals , emergency room visits and dump children the public school system. So the business sells the product el cheapo while importing people into the neighborhood who can only subsist on welfare and criminal behavior.

So its profit side for the business and socialized employee maintenance. Wages offered below subsistence = socialism. If someone works below their own maintenance, someone else has to pay. I'll bet I will be one volunteered to "help".

Flat rates across the country are a stupid implementation since subsistence is dependent on the locale.

Default The Federal Government should set a nationwide minimum wage

It's too bad that the Federal Government doesn't set a nationwide minimum wage. Some states still have no minimum wage laws.

Each state can set their own minimum wages.

In our country, some states have no minimum wage laws. Some companies in some states are legally allowed to pay $2.00 an hour (and we're not talking about tipped employees) $2.00 an hour is the minimum wage that is allowed by those qualified as "Small Businesses"...

There is nowhere in America that someone can exist on $2.00 an hour.

U.S. Department of Labor - Wage and Hour Division (WHD) - Minimum Wage Laws in the States

Sadly, conservatives like Akin from Missouri want to repeal minimum wage laws that have been set in their states... and, of course he's against Medicare.
He obvioiusly doesn't have any concept what it's like to work hard for no money.

But, he wants you to know that he "prays for women who have been raped."
Isn't that nice?

Giving power to these "conservatives" is against the best interest of American workers.

da guberment doesn't need revenue. It is the money. It doesn't need its own green paper it prints itself. What da guberment does need to do is tax anything interfering in the market and considering the current currency hoarding and rent seeking contest between the wealthy, you can tax the hell out of them. Now I would prefer it would be on their economic rental income of course.

Are you sure universal health care is affordable in other countries? When you factor in the cost people pay in supplemental insurance, healthcare cost per person is extremely high in countries with universal health care.

You have any proof to back that claim up?
