I'm sure not going to get involved in the dispute myself. I'll call the cops from the safety of my home OR whichever safe place I'm at.

I've actually witnessed a man beating up a woman in front of my house and although I called the police, I went outside and turned on my hose and doused both of them down just to try to distract them from the fight. Stupid - maybe, because as many people have said they could have had a knife or gun. Fortunately, other neighbors came out of their houses - a couple of people carrying baseball bats, and others armed with something a little more lethal.

I would interfere in a New York minute if I saw someone abusing an innocent animal, I wouldn't be able to help myself.

LOL! Actually, that was what I was thinking - I've turned the hose on dogs to break them up and I just automatically reached for it when I saw the fighting couple.

Domestic violence is the most dangerous situation for police, often, police who intervene, start getting battered by the very person they are trying to rescue!

I would stay out of it. But, I would call the police.

Call

If it was not a lethal type fighting I would wait for the cops to show up. If someone was being stabbed or battered while disabled I would disable the attacker.

Firstly I would call the police but I don't know if I could just ignore it. I think I would try to at least say something to hopefully get the person to stop. Usually though domestic violence occurs behind closed doors.
