All party conventions have events prior to and after the official convention. To put these events on their list of scheduled events on the DNC convention's own website is an endorsement of said events, even if they deny it to be so. If it's not endorsed, then don't include it in the schedule of events. Problem solved.

No you are being fooled by two different websites. The one you linked is a website done by the city of Charlotte to present information about events in the city (there's a nice promo for an AmericanFest on their website headlining American singer/songwriter James Taylor).
Absent though from the actual Democratic National Convention website is any mention of the BIMA event.
I guess folks here want to tell the city of Charlotte who and what events they can schedule.
