Researchers found persistent users of the drug, who started smoking it at school, had lower IQ scores as adults.
They were also significantly more likely to have attention and memory problems in later life, than their peers who abstained.
Furthermore, those who started as teenagers and used it heavily, but quit as adults, did not regain their full mental powers, found academics at King’s College London and Duke University in the US.

That I was not included in the survey - or if I had been - would nullify their findings. I was able to study better and made much better grades on exams while stoned. And those things I learned while stoned, I remember today. Those lessons at university. While those things I learned before ever having smoked I don't really recall. Just a general recollection of training. Like, I don't remember potty training, but...
Researchers... funding... taxes... gravy train. How would they have achieved any other conclusion. I mean, look at the friggin BBC
I believe the point was early regular use of the drug impairs development of the brain. Nothing stated about only occasional use or not using regularly after entering adulthood.

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that you still use. I don't think I have to go very far out that limb, though.
It's pretty well established that the information you attain while sober will be more easily recalled when sober, and the information you attain while high will be more easily recalled while high. I'm not going to go searching for a link to provide - if you're interested, go find it yourself. I've seen references to these findings many times, over many years. I don't have an insta-link to give you right now, and I don't care enough to go find one. Like I said, if you're genuinely interested, you'll do your own research.
Anyway, don't fool yourself about the damage that you can do with pot.
I really don't doubt long term use of pot will lower your IQ. However, after reading this study I can say I feel a lot of it is pure bs. They took 1000 people which is a very small sample. Then retested the sample that admitted to smoking pot. However, even among that there are an absurd amount of other data that could produce different results. For instance, out of the ones who did admit smoking, what other drugs did they use? Did the Drink(as this would also influence it)? Did they watch an excess of TV? so many factors...........There is just so many holes in that study that it is unreliable.

Sorry, there's no limb there. Waiting to grow a new one. If there was a limb I'd let you have it but it's been a number of years. If I had the stuff, it'd be a fat one.
