La. Gov. Bobby Jindal asks President Obama for more Tropical Storm Isaac aid - CBS News

So Jindal wants Federal Assistance AND reimbursement? I wonder what Cantor thinks?

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) says no aid for Joplin without cuts - National Political Buzz | Examiner.com

Eric Cantor: No Federal Relief For Earthquake Or Hurricane Damage Unless It’s Offset By Spending Cuts

Political move? Probably but definitely goes against the GOP concept of "let the state's deal with it".

All politics is local. Humorous, the Governor's actions are, when you consider that he was scheduled to deliver a speech at the Republican convention in Tampa ... criticizing the leadership of the President. In a time of need he turns to this same President he dislikes, recommends against, and asks for his help. Help which President Bush failed to deliver responsibly the last time Lousiana faced this type of risk. Congratulations to the President for demonstrating non-partisanship and for his demonstrated leadership.

Ask for aid before anything happens ?

Prepare and then assess the damage AFTER.

Precisely. This is strictly a political move on his part. If Obama caves then he is spending too much. If he doesn't then he is leaving them all out to dry.

Looks like Jindal got to give his Anti-Obama speech after all.

Wait....I thought the big mean government should mind its own business.

I thought...that Obama is this big nasty dictator...

I thought that states need to fend for their own.

I thought...wrong.

Obama will handle this much better than Bush.

Obama 2012!

Turning to the president he dislikes?

Hardly.

He's asking for FEDERAL assistance, not OBAMA assistance. Contrary to popular belief amongst obots, the money does not come out of obama's pocket. It's not his personal stash.

And as has been so thoroughly covered, help must be asked for before it can be given. The freaking moronic leadership in LA and NO during Katrina didn't ask for help until it was over.

Dummies.

If congratulations are in order, it's to LA residents for electing Jindal.

Say what? All we hear around here is how much Obama has spent! Now you're telling us he DOESN'T spend it...the federal government does?

Wow! You'd better e-mail that news to Romney, Ryan and most the RWNJ's on this site before they say something stupid again!
