Another great reason why California's economy will continue to lead. Here's a map of the venture capital hot spots in the country along with the amounts invested each year in billions of dollars.

Poor Texas is just a pimple on a warthog's butt where as California is by far the king. That's the future being built right there.
America's Leading High-Tech, Venture Capital Centers - Jobs & Economy - The Atlantic Cities

Obviously SF is the King but you'll also notice Southern California is in second place. You'll notice the state pulls in more than the rest of the country combined.

It got hit hard in the recession, there is no denying that, and as the article said the state was overly dependent on the building business during the bubble but it's clearly bouncing back now. Leading the country in job creation much to the dismay of the haters.

California Defies Lower-Tax Texas in Creating More Jobs- Bloomberg

Really no surprise there. So many people still dream of moving to California in order to delight in the usual good weather, mountain scenery, skiing, the beach and see the movie stars! However, since Texas still hasn't passed California in population it's no surprise that Texas can't produce more jobs.

Finance and consulting jobs are more plentiful and better paying in the Boston-Washington corridor. Tech and entertainment are the only fields where California is tops, and everything else has been pretty sickly since '08.

California leading the nation in job growth now wouldn't surprise me however. Same principle as places that got hit the hardest in the housing crash starting to see price rises already: it dropped further, faster, than everywhere else and thus will go up more on the way back to normal.

Job growth in California was 2.6% and in Texas it was 2.1% so not only is California producing more jobs in raw numbers but it is also experiencing a higher growth rate in job creation.

Default Jobs? In Cali....Really

So are these manufacturing jobs? Or good paying white collar jobs? Or high tech jobs?

Nope, they are min wage crap jobs, so if you consider mexicans washing dishes and mowing lawns, then yeah cali created some jobs!

News flash, the county fair annouced 700 temp jobs for 3 weeks and 5,000 idiots showed up to apply.

But look at the real picture:

Population is 37.7 million
By 2025 it will be over 49 million

That growth is not going to come from other states where people say, california is a great place lets move there. It's not going to come form natural population growth.

it's going to come from mexicans invading the state, using up services, loading up the jails, sending money back to mexico and brining with them all the coruption, drugs and desperate lifestyle they have in mexico.

My parents moved here in the 1960's from the midwest because it was the land of opprotunity. But that ship has sailed. So I am moving my family out, to somewhere where the air isn't brown, the water isn't foul and the citizens are not complete idiots

I have lived here all my life and I know the facts, the place is screwed up and there is no fixing it.

Ha. Just look at the hate here. Some of you right-wingers are just as bad as some of the left-wingers who have been blinded by partisan politics.
