So it appears now Obama is against defense cuts. You see he had nothing to do with it. All those evil congressors...........Here is the great orator at Ft. Bliss...........

"“By the way, you’ve been hearing some folks out there trying to talk about the budget and trying to scare you,” he said. “Last year Congress pledged to find a plan to reduce the deficit. And they said if they couldn’t agree there would be big cuts across the board, including Defense. But understand nobody wants these cuts. That’s why Congress threatened to force themselves to make hard decisions. Well, here’s the thing. There’s no reason those cuts should happen. Because folks in congress ought to come together and agree on a responsible plan that reduces the deficit and keeps our military strong. That’s what needs to happen.”"

I guess he forgot about this ..........

President Obama announced a new military strategy on Thursday that will cut the Pentagon budget by hundreds of billions of dollars over the next decade.

Speaking from the Pentagon, Obama said the plan is "smart, strategic" and sets priorities.
"I just want to say that this effort reflects the guidance I gave throughout this process," Obama said. "Yes, the tide of war is receding. But the question that this strategy answers is what kind of military will we need after the long wars of the last decade are over. And today, we're moving forward, from a position of strength."
The new military strategy includes $487 billion in cuts over the next decade. An additional $500 billion in cuts could be coming if Congress follows through on plans for deeper reductions. The announcement comes weeks after the U.S. officially ended the Iraq War and after a decade of increased defense spending in the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the United States.

One would think he would want to take credit for it. It might make me like him a little better.

Yeah I was wondering why he was claiming he didn't want to cut defense spending too. I don't think he even knows anymore himself. Just reads what's put in front of him. No swooner will dare challenge him and he knows that. Chris Mathews will be screaming for an entire new fleet of warships if Obama keeps this up. lol

Standard procedure for Obama.
He can't tie himself to the cuts before an election, don't want the truth getting in the way now does he?

At least congress is talking about the budget. Something Obama has ignored for his entire presidency.
