He refers to him in Dreams of my father as being intrigued by him the 2 were introduced by obamas grandfather in 1970 his job was to be a mentor to obama, and he did mentor him on race, women, college, his mind and attitudes and on his view on life.
Obama also refers to Frank Marshall Davis 22 times with direct references.
Only obama did leave out these important facts about Frank Marshall Davis......

Like......
Davis joined Communist Party USA in Chicago during World War II (his Party number was 47544)
( He was extremely active in writing for the party and was founding editor in chief Chicago Star and in Hawaii when he moved there in 1948 for the Honolulu Record)

Those writings reveal a man fully loyal to the Soviet Union and the Communist Party line,
and often bare an uncanny resemblance to Obama’s own rhetoric,
whether Davis was bashing Wall Street,
big oil,
big banks,
corporate executives
and their “excess profits”
and “greed”
and their “fat contracts,”
the wealthy and
“millionaires,”
GOP tax cuts that “spare the rich,”
and on and on.

What Obama's Mentor Thought About General Motors - Forbes

THIS IS A EXTREMELY INTERESTING ARTICLE I RECCOMEND EVERYONE READ IT.

FORWARD! WITH OBAMA, AXELROD, JARRETT, AND FRANK MARSHALL DAVIS

Being that this is my area of research, I naturally paused to consider this bizarre spectacle. I contacted Ion Mihai Pacepa, a goldmine of information on this sort of thing.
Pacepa, now in his 80s, was the highest-ranking intelligence official to defect the Soviet bloc.
He had been the right-hand man to Romanian dictator
Pacepa knows the communist world better than just about anyone on the planet. Here's what he told me about the "Forward!" slogan:

“Forward,” rooted in Lenin's book Two Steps Backwards, One Step Forward, was frequently used by most leaders of the Soviet bloc I met. "Forward Comrades" was one of Ceausecu's favorite slogans. In 1972, when I had my last meeting with Fidel, he also used it many times. Raul did too... Look also into Vorwärts (German for Forward), which was the newspaper of the Social Democratic Party of Germany.

old news is still old news. what debate is there to be had? If the OP has a problem with Frank Marshall Davis, then he should take it up with him...oh wait...too late for that.

Well I suppose Backwards would be an appropriate slogan for Republicans. So your argument makes some sense?
"A conservative is a man with two perfectly good legs who, however, has never learned how to walk forward."

Franklin D. Roosevelt
Who knew that Lenin had such far reaching influence!

"The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you can see."
Winston Churchill

"Again, you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life."
Steve Jobs

"We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths."
Walt Disney

"We will build new ships to carry man forward into the universe, to gain a new foothold on the moon and to prepare for new journeys to the worlds beyond our own."
George W. Bush

"Be courageous. I have seen many depressions in business. Always America has emerged from these stronger and more prosperous. Be brave as your fathers before you. Have faith! Go forward!"
Thomas A. Edison

I thought this was worthy of special note:

Whenever a youth is ascertained to possess talents meriting an education which his parents cannot afford, he should be carried forward at the public expense.
James Madison

By the way, there are more than enough socialist symbols and slogans that one doesn't have to be a tea leaf reader to discern.

"Workers of the world, unite!"

Default What is the meaning of "Forward", forward to where???

Where does "Forward" lead us too???

So, what does this mean? Am I saying that Obama and Axelrod learned "Forward!" from their old Chicago communist forebears? That's something I'm unable to definitively confirm. I'm inclined to think all of this is mere coincidence, and that the slogan is just some general left-wing platitude. But, gee, it's a heck of a coincidence -- and yet another at that.
Moreover, Obama and Axelrod are geniuses at coming up with words and phrases that seem vague and benign to the larger population -- especially to the ignorant independents/moderates who elected Obama in 2008 -- but which resonate with a hard left that understands the deeper meaning completely. That was certainly true for the "change" slogan. Those of us savvy to this stuff know the underlying message in "change." We interpret it the way that progressives and Fabian socialists and, yes, communists, understand it.
If Obama and Axelrod spent a lot of time with these Chicago influences and circles, they could have easily picked up the slogan "Forward!"
Either way, the "fundamental transformation" of America continues, compliments of the oblivious Americans who elected this political insanity in November 2008.

I donno, it has a communist meaning historically...

He had been the right-hand man to Romanian dictator Nicolai Ceausescu. When he defected in 1978, Pacepa's positions included being head of Romania's so-called "Presidential House," which was equivalent to being White House chief of staff and director of the CIA, FBI, and Department of Homeland Security. Pacepa knows the communist world better than just about anyone on the planet. Here's what he told me about the "Forward!" slogan:
Forward," rooted in Lenin's book Two Steps Backwards, One Step Forward, was frequently used by most leaders of the Soviet bloc I met. "Forward Comrades" was one of Ceausecu's favorite slogans.
