Let us remeber Lenin caused change. So did Pol Pot.

Things were stable in Germany before Hitler uprooted the status quo...

The silliest threads by the leftist fanatics, always start with lies about the most basic things.

This one is clearly no exception.

???

How are those lies?

The DEFINITION of "Conservative" is "A person who is averse to change and holds to traditional values and attitudes", so how is Premise 1 incorrect?

Premise 2 is OBVIOUSLY correct because Lincoln was a Republican who freed the slaves and until the 1960s, the Democratic Party was highly conservative and fought for segregation and other issues like that. It wasn't until the Goldwater era when the parties started switching places.

The entire post is correct. What the poster doesn't mention is that the Libertarian party is vastly better than the Democratic party on all these progressive social and political issues.

They are polar opposite of each other.

Seriously, do you people know how to read?

Fascism: An authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization

Socialism: A political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.

Not even close to one another. You people need to go back to high school and learn this stuff.
Wonder why this country is in an economic funk? We allow people like "workingclasshero" to vote based solely on ignorance and not on an intellectual analysis of the candidates. They take one idea, misconstrue it and then they don't let it go. They vote against their own best interests because they don't know any better.

How can a country possibly improve and evolve if you allow the ignorant masses (who can't even tell that the far left and the far right are polar opposites of one another) to control our fate?

And tell me, how is the current GOP platform NOT a Christian-theologistic fascism again? Which party is it that wants to actually amend the constitution to deny rights to a specific group? Which party is it that wants to take away a woman's right to choose?

The ignorance is appalling.

What he fails to mention is that what we now call libertarians are what we once called liberals before the socialists stole the liberal moniker. The classical liberals were for greater economic and social freedom. The modern liberals are for economic tyranny.

The great tyrannies of the 20th century were committed by nations with all-powerful central governments. Governments that controlled all aspects of their citizens' lives.

Here are some things that progressives gave to the human race.

Wearing clothes

Not murdering each other

Creating marriage, making extra-marital sex taboo

To name a few. The real conservatives want us to go back to the stone age.

False, simply google Hitler's 25 Point Plan, what you find is a mix of socialism and fascism.

Mussolini was a Marxist who found out that government bureaucrats were much better at confiscating wealth than they were at producing it.

Do you know what words the anagram NAZI represents?

Facism is pretty much socialism in one country with government controlling the output of production rather than productive assets.

Hence his line "Republicans were not always conservative and Democrats not always liberal"

Learn how to read before responding to a thread.

The word "liberty" is the same as "liberal". This is not a difficult concept. This is why I have no faith in our political system, the uneducated ignorant voter's voices are louder than the voices of the educated and informed voters. You allow people with no knowledge of anything practical (though they know their Bible!) to control how our country "progresses". That's why we have constitutional amendments being proposed to prohibit gay marriage (like it has a negative effect on your life if two dudes want to get married) yet no true economic plan being laid out by anyone. That's why we still have illegal marijuana while things like Vioxx can be unleashed on the public and kill 50,000+ people. That's why we don't trade with Cuba because of their "poor human rights" while we hold hands with Saudi kings despite ACTUAL the complete lack of human rights there.

Names mean nothing. "The Democratic People's Republic of Korea"...is that country a democratic nation?

You people trying to call Hitler a socialist are so far beyond help, it's just pathetic.
HE MURDERED SOCIALISTS.
HE WAS ENEMIES WITH THE UNION OF SOVIET SOCIALIST REPUBLICS

If you can't understand that, you're really not bright enough to understand much of anything. It's really as simple of a concept as there possibly exists.

The only reason to vote conservative is ignorance. I don't support the Democrats...I'm a Libertarian...so I am not about "socialism" or "big government". The Republican party supports the #1 biggest Welfare Jobs program in the world and that's the US Military. Nowhere do we pay for more unnecessary jobs than in the military. So many of those kids never see action, spend their entire 4 years here in America getting paychecks from our taxes and then they go to college on the taxpayer's dime without ever doing a thing to actually protect our country. Cut the military in half and we still have the biggest one in the world while saving BILLIONS on that jobs program for gun-loving rednecks from Middle America who don't think that they are the #1 perfect example of Communism, a state-sponsored jobs program.
