It's getting downright hilarious the lengths the Republican Party is undergoing to avoid the subject of GWB. Following a convention week where the two-term presidency from their party just four years previous was not referenced, candidates are side-stepping the subject even when directly questioned. Piers Morgan interviewed Paul Ryan and the would-be veep changed the subject every time Bush was mentioned.
It should be obvious by now to any honest observer there is a mandate within the party the Bush/Cheney years should not be referenced under any circumstance, because doing so would automatically lose them the election.

Haha, you got me there. So why are the candidates not embracing his presidency? Do they want us to have amnesia over the good times we enjoyed last decade?

All great points in this thread and it's funny how the GOP is hiding from

W

Cheney

The tea party

And pretty much everything else in recent memory they formerly embraced. It's like even the GOP goons know they are disposable that when they get their way, they tank, get thrown in the trash, then a new group of GOP clowns come around and the cycle continues,..

Yea, and they seem to think that if they can trash Obama enough, we'll all just jump back on the GOP bandwagon. It is like running out of a burning house, clothes and hair afire, and diving into a cold swimming pool. You've survived, you're alive, but now you're shivering from the shock of it all. So, the arsonists are gather around the pool and start chanting in unison. "Water's cold ain't it. Just run back into the house and it will all be good!"

Ugh...no thanks [MOD CUT/language]

Yeah, downright hilarious. Just like with 2008, Democrats wish desperately to run against a guy who is not on the ticket. When R's try to get back on topic, namely Obama-Biden vs. Romney-Ryan, it appears that Dems are going to accusing them of changing the subject. LMAO!

Notice that Jeb Bush and Condi Rice, both W-linked figures, were two of the most prominent speakers at the convention. So that is pretty good evidence that R's are not trying to avoid the Bush years, as the OP claims. It's just that R's are not about to buy into the delusional sales pitch that W is on the ballot this fall.
