So, sad to say, this type of post will not sway many folks. Congress doesn't matter, doesn't even exist in the Obama dictatorship.
They're incapable of performing the simple math necessary so it was presented to them.

Expecting them to understand the three branches is a bit of a stretch but one must give the benefit of doubt.

I'm under no pre-conceived notion they will be convinced, having seen the joy they've displayed when relentlessly pummeled with factual data, I've begun to suspect a certain pleasure must exist in the mounting pain.

Let's guess...

You're going to tell us he'd need VETO PROOF majorities in BOTH Houses to control Congress?

Do liberals even believe half the stuff they say? Every time I read a post on here from a liberal I feel like I get dumber reading this foolishness.

Obviously, they don't know that.

How fun it must to be a democrat and learn new stuff all the time. To bad they have to be retaught every single day.

Democrats lost their 60 seat majority when Republican Scott Brown of Massachusetts was sworn into office in February of 2010.

This does not account for the number of days Congress was not in session during that time. If one subtracts the number of days Congress was out, the time that President Obama had a Democratic majority in Congress is further reduced by more than 30 days, or another full month.

Of a possible 94 legislative days during that period, the Senate was only in session for 67 days, while the House labored for 54.

See Congressional calendar spanning the time frame

Interesting.
From the source [Senate Legislative Process]:
Quote:
The third reading is by title only. The question is then put upon passage of the bill, which requires a simple majority vote.
Since there are 100 people in the Senate (2 per 50 states, not 57 like Obama said), that would make the majority vote = 50. The Democratic Senate could pass anything they wanted (and did) with that.

What the 60 is referring to is cloture (overturning a filibuster). There's a hidden assumption about the 60 votes where nothing can be passed at all without a supermajority. However, in 2008 for example there were WAY WAY more bills either outright rejected or passed than dealt with through cloture. So that argument is pointless.

This is an odd understanding of the Senate Process.

Perhaps you should examine Rules XXII, VIII, VII. I'm certain no one believes a simple majority gets ANYTHING major through the Senate, well, you're exception of course.

In the meantime, and back on topic - Democrats had a 60 seat majority from September 24, 2009 thru February 4, 2010. 4 months; not 2 years

Having a 60 seat majority, doesnt constitute "CONTROL".. 51 seats does..

Did you fail math class?
