Our mediocre foreign policies in the Middle East since this millennium, have done relatively nothing but waste our exorbitantly expensive superpower. Except for the fact that it is being conducted on a for profit basis where the wealthiest can make more money, simply because they have enough money to invest in our policy of mass destruction, as an ethic and moral in modern times.

We are dragging the middle east into the the seventh century kicking and screaming.

Afghanistan is yet to enter 700 BC.

Default What are we accomplishing in the Middle East?

Just the same-old, same-old...

1. Prop up Israel

2. Prop up the Saudi royal family

3. P.O. everyone else and wonder why they're so hostile

As previously mentioned we are ensuring that oil is traded in US dollar. I don't know how many times this has to be pointed out.

AS for those who think the middle east was some paradise before the US arrived I suggest looking at history. I know that is a lot to ask for many.

Actually bob you should be asking your orator this question. Her is what he said about Afghan.......
"After 18 months, our troops will begin to come home … [O]ur troop commitment in Afghanistan cannot be open-ended – because the nation that I'm most interested in building is our own." – President Barack Obama, 1 December 2009
"I'm confident that the withdrawal will be significant. People will say this is a real process of transition; this is not just a token gesture." – President Barack Obama, 15 April 2011
"In July of 2011, you're going to see a whole lot of people moving out, bet on it." – Vice President Joe Biden, quoted in Jonathan Alter's The Promise
In between we had a surge. Same type of surge that caused the bush haters heads to pop off but they remained silent and still remain silent about the US activities in Afghan. Why is that bob?

Why should we care what century States in the Middle East are in, if they are not part of the United States?

Our federal Congress is only delegated the power to Tax, to provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States, not anything and everything, as some alleged conservatives would like while clamoring to reduce social spending for real persons that actually provides for the general welfare.

Yes, I am saying that. Diversification is usually considered a sound money management principle. Besides, if it were that effective, we would not have obsolete infrastructure and state-of-the-art capability for the common offense and general warfare.

Why really believes that condoning poverty in our republic is worth being a superpower without a Cause?

Well watch what happens here in a few years if Russian and China get their way. Infrastructure and "state of the art capability" can be provided by state level taxation and the private sector. When the US can't print up money anymore to sell off to others we are in a world of hurt. It's been going on since the 70's. Nobody wants it to change but Ron Paul. I take it your voting for him if he runs?
