Hey, OP, children are already BORN.

You know, the ones you don't want to feed or provide medical support for.
Those ones, the ones who breathe on their own.

Consider this: In US, 90% of babies which are diagnosed with Downs Syndrome are aborted. This means that practically all of those who say "abortion is never acceptable", will actually choose to abort when faced with a real life situation. In other words, they are hypocrites.

A clump of cells is not a "baby". And I would rather any woman have an abortion before killing a real, live bay she does not want...as so many women do these days.

Well, Finn, I can tell you in my circle this is not true. My friend was told there was a strong possibility based on early testing that she was carrying a DS baby. She declined the amnio, because it wouldn't have mattered. She would not choose to abort if the baby had DS. I was told the same thing in my last pregnancy. I also rejected further testing, for the same reason. If we had been blessed with a child who happened to have an extra chromosome, we would have loved and raised that child.

So the entire premise of the thread is flawed.

Absolutely. Currently, there is no way to keep a fetus alive outside the uterus before at least 21 weeks, or roughly 5 months. Unlike sci-fi movies, there are no tanks filled with amniotic fluid to hold and nurture a fetus. As for killing babies, just deny the living, breathing baby food, shelter and health care, or leave it with someone who'll shake it or burn it with cigarettes or whatever means of death the killer chooses.

Well, if 90% choose to abort, it leaves 10% who would not, and you are in the 10% minority. This simply means that when faced with a real life situation 90% of Americans are pro-choise.

No, it means that 90% of Americans who are pregnant with a Down's child abort it. You present no evidence that individuals pregnant with Down's children are a representative sample of Americans in general.

I don't think the OP is going to get many votes from Pro-Choice people because you can only vote for one and only one circumstance in which abortion is morally acceptable. And your attempt to paint Pro-Choice people as people who avoid thinking about this issue in real life ways is not only insulting, it's also laughable and down right false. I would also go so far as to say that for any Pro-Choice person you COULD find "that voids thinking about this issue in real life ways" there are two Pro-Life people who also do the same thing.
