white people work together to keep racism alive. invalidating minorities experiences with bigotry and racism is one way they do this.
That is one of the most silly things on this whole thread. It makes me feel bad for the poster and hope that she is young so can blame things like this on her youth and immaturity.
I'm still trying to figure out where these non-white groups are that are OPENLY disdainful of blacks. Because I wanna experience it firsthand myself. Where us it? Direct me to it. Because until I experience it personally, I ain't believing it.
The "openly" disdainful part... most whites these days keep their prejudice to themselves, expressed only among other whites. (Same thing black people usually do re their own prejudices).
Other minorities (outside the historical black/white experience in America) have been doing the same for decades, more covertly.
What else is, "marry another Asian," or "marry another Colombian," "marry an Indian" or even, "marry a Jew" other than a covert way of saying, "stick to our race?" --- we accept those sentiments as cultural nuances, when I personally view them as pretty blatant expressions of racism.
The desire of a Chinese mother to have Chinese culture and looking grandchildren is no different than that of a white American mother to have same.

Correct on all counts.
That's my point...blacks (in my experience) don't care how whites or Asians feel personally. Be prejudiced...i really don't give a damn. But in interpersonal dealings, keep it to yourself and don't let it manifest itself, or there's gonna be a problem. I'm not concerned with personal prejudices. Not my business.
Besides, isn't that how it's supposed to work? You're supposed to be polite and show respect. That's always been my personal policy no matter who i'm dealing with. As long as we all do that, there will be few problems.
