If our rights are given to us by providence/nature, why is it only in the past few centuries that we actually knew of their existence, and only in the past few decades that we gave them to everybody (well, mostly)? Humans accomplished all this. If an inanimate collection of organic matter gave us rights, she certainly did nothing to enforce them.
