Believe it or notThe United States is not dependent upon Israel for survival. In fact it can be reasonably argued that many of our current woes are directly related to our very biased approach to Israel. Israel needs to understand that we are the sugar daddy not them.
The official added that the White House rejected the request and said that at this time Obama’s schedule does not allow for a meeting.

After all, in the past two weeks Obama has attended at least six different campaign events and fundraisers, from Colorado to Florida to Virginia, seven if you count his night at the Democrat Convention in North Carolina. Nearly all his waking hours have been spent traveling to and from these events, as well as actually giving speeches etc. at them.
President Obama is a busy man, and can't be expected to drop all these important functions for a meeting with a mere Prime Minister of our closest ally while that country is under imminent threat of nuclear attack from the most significant terrorist nation on the planet.

That is absurd. The United States of America was founded with the very intention of religious freedom. I know many Jewish-Americans who live and love it here. I do support Israel's right to exist and defend herself but at the end of the day The United States can only do what is best for the United States. There are also Jews that feel similar.

Perhaps Obama got fair warning that Israel was about to try and hit us up for more money. I usually agree with you but on this occasion I can't. Israel is deep into our wallet and forever demanding more. We expend a great deal of political clout on their behalf and get a minimal return.
Calling Jews occupiers is hate. Israel has been recognized as a Nation State by the US Government since Israel declared independence in 1948. His earning a few more bucks and getting a few more votes is more important than the world situation that could spark World War III.
That is on the back burner for Obama.. got to make four more years is his ultimate goal to stay in power.

Of course, defending a free ally against attack by a big nation of 13th Century barbarians who might be about to get nuclear weapons, is so inconvenient and expensive. Maybe we would be better off if we just withdrew all support, let Israel and Iran duke it out, and then resume diplomatic relations with the winner and live in harmony, eh?
