I am a Liberal and a Democrat and I do not believe we have ANY friends in the Middle East. The Islamicists hate our very existence and the Jews take any advantage of us they can.

Israel wants us to go to war with the only country in the area with a miniscule chance of becoming a secular republic. We should withdraw all of our embassies and as many of our citizens as want to leave and then let the madmen stew in their own hatred. They are nothing more or less than dangerous pests.

Look, it sounds like you need a few things explained to you. I'm here to help.

First of all, the notion that Obama is an appeaser of violent Islamists is ridiculous if you ask Bin Laden and the whole boatload of them that his admin has killed in their aggressive drone campaign - way more than under any GOPer.

Furthermore, you should understand that in politics, the leadership always has to phrase things for new cameras in terms of camraderie and desire to be friends with different countries. But our involvement in the Middle East is very much a self-interested one. US leadership wants to shape and influence those regions as much as possible in their favor for the sake of economics (oil) and the suppression of extremism. It's not an overnight process, and you can't do those things if you don't have a relationship with their governments. We've had military bases in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait for years, for heaven's sake. There is a good reason for that, and it preceded Obama.

finally, you should understand that even if the USA completely abandoned the Middle East, the Middle Eastern jihadists will not abandon the USA. How do you think 9-11 happened in the first place? If US intelligence is lax about following up on stuff, if there aren't relationships on the ground in those nations, if there aren't drones in the air, if there isn't an attempt to help governments over there root out these groups... then they will continue to grow like weeds, and they will strike US soil again.

Remember the whole Republican thing about "fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them over here?" There was some truth to that.

there's also some truth to this: keep your friends close; keep your enemies closer.

Uh.....there's been more than one "bad guy" killed under President Obama's watch.

There was another high level Al Qaeda operative killed just this past weekend, bringing the total up to around thirty (maybe 28 or 29).....again, during this president's administration.

Try to keep up.

I didn't hear that, although I did check the news this morning.

Can you provide a link so I can hear (or read) her apology?

Hillary did not apologize for it. That's bull****.

Clinton calls anti-Islam video 'disgusting' - Yahoo! News

What she said was that we disown the commentary in that movie AND we condemn the violence against our embassies. And both of those statements should be true for any decent American.

She also made clear that in America, we do not and will not limit expression of opinion by private citizens. But that does not mean that we have to support everything that is said. No one censored the movie, but it's an appropriate diplomatic move to point out that those views in that movie do not express the official position of this nation.

Furthermore, Obama has already made it clear that he wants those militants dead, and the military and FBI are already at work hunting them down.

No, he didn't. He looked like a desperate man who is desperate to be president and who's watching his campaign go down the toilet and he jumped into something where he had no business being, hoping it would score him political points.

He FAILED.

The GOP officials trying to throw him under the bus are the ones who will have egg on their face.
Well, then there's going to be an awful lot of egg because there are an awful lot of them condemning his disgraceful behavior this morning (including Tom Ridge).

Default Obama Calls Lybian President To Thank Him For What?

Unbelievable. Barack Obama called Libyan President Mohamed Yusuf al-Magariaf today to thank him for his support.

This is the day after US Ambassador Stevens was murdered at the consulate.

And, the Islamist murderers were probably tipped off by Libya’s security forces!!!:

Quote:
California-born ambassador Christopher Stevens was killed in the assault, but it was not clear how or where he died. U.S. consular staff were rushed to a safe house after the initial attack, Libya’s Deputy Interior Minister Wanis Al-Sharif said.

An evacuation plane with U.S. commandos units then arrived from Tripoli to evacuate them from the house.

“It was supposed to be a secret place and we were surprised the armed groups knew about it. There was shooting,” Sharif said.

With the videos on the TV these days, with American embasys being stormed, with the economy in the toilet and the country divided, and the complete lack of leadership, it sure feels like 1979. Welcome back Carter.
