Team Romney is promising to put even more money into an already bloated Defense Dept. budget, as if there isn't enough money now.
I'm a strong supporter of our Armed Forces, but when I see things like this, I just hang my head. What ARE they thinking and what ARE they spending our hard-earned tax dollars on?
Do we REALLY need to funnel more money to moronic ideas like this? I mean...gee whiz! I robotic mule? What's wrong with a REAL mule?
I'm betting they could be had for a lot less than this stupid thing.
This is an example of the military/industrial complex the GOP loves run amok.
Can you tell me what sequestration is? I don't see how these things are likely to happen since sequestration is about to take $60 billion per year away from the military budget. I would think that the men who could travel so much farther with their packs on that "animal" would appreciate the whole thing.
Defense budget total is about 1 T now, about twice of that of all human welfare together. We cover many counties for their external defense even 20 years after cold war is over. Is this crazy? Only Ron Paul has idea to cut such defense welfare from all candidates pool. GOP is much worse than Dem , though latter won't make any drastic cut for sure.
We've been hearing from the liberals and media for the past few years that all we need to do to fix the economy is 'cut defense spending.' That's either some 'exotic new math' or someone is not smart enough; or thinks others are not smart enough ... to actually 'do the math!'
Let's see, ... the ENTIRE proposed 2013 Defense Budget, including OCO (Overseas Contingency Operations of $88B in Iraq and Afghanistan) is $614 Billion--- By the way, this is mostly spent on U.S. military jobs, U.S. manufactured products, and U.S. Companies, etc. -- http://comptroller.defense.gov/defbu...rview_Book.pdf --
As a point of reference, the ENTIRE $614 Billion Requested Defense Budget (down $30B from 2011) is about 1/26th of the $16 Trillion national debt (which increased $5 Trillion over the last 3+ years alone! ($5 Trillion is about 8-times the ENTIRE $614 Billion Defense Budget!) If the National Debt stops growing entirely, and the ENTIRE Defense Budget were applied to the National Debt, we would still be in debt until 2038 (26 years)!
In truth, if we simply stop spending 12-percent of the 'OVER-Spending' for the next few years, we can accomplish the same thing as eliminating the ENTIRE Defense Budget. Heaven forbid, we might actually give some thought to the notion of actually spending according to the tax income of this country! ... like all of our 'less fortunate citizens' are forced to do with their own budgets!

(Snort) I can tell you what WE would have done with such a contrivance had it been around during my war. And, it wouldn't be pretty. (think..thermite grenade)
