Most parents probably allow their kids to make up their own minds when it comes to voting.

Voting is a personal thing. You vote in America based on your own decision. Who you think will run the country the best. And which candidate will align most closely with your personal outlook for a Great America.

I didn't vote regularly when I was young. Just occasionally.

It didn't matter to me as much then as it does now.

I did have great parents. As it turns out, I vote in agreement with my parents. In my opinion, they had it right all along when it came to electing a President.

My parents never influenced me politically - verbally - they always allowed me to make my own decisions.

What are the influences in today's young people politically?

Do young people vote primarily one way or the other because of media bias, peer pressure or for some other reason?

In the long run, I have found myself agreeing with Mom & Dad.

Should parents try to tell their kids which way to vote?

Have you grown into or against your Parent's political stance?

Same goes for Republicans.

My parents are both Independents.

There will probably be political discussions in the house and you will form your early opinions based on that and then add to it based on your experience in the world. I disagree strongly with my mother these days but she never got political until the last 4-5 years. Go figure.

When I was young, I never even thought about it that much.

Mostly I was having fun and looking for chicks.

As I got older and realized that no one would pay my bills except me, I got the whole picture in my face.

I will always vote for any candidate that I feel will make job creation more possible.

My mom almost had a fit when I told her I changed my registration from D to R, and she's never registered or voted in her life..

It makes no sense to vote Democrat when Republicans offer all the same things - except that Republicans always consider a strong defense and spend less.

My parents rarely talked politics and the direction I took with my kids was to identify the biased news sources and NEVER read, watch or listen to them. To read other countries newspapers both pro and anti American to try and get a balanced view of what's going on here....

Politicians are human beings and will screw up and lie no matter if they have a D, R or I next to their names and I now have two D's and two R's with their own families....

Into my father's and against my mother's, I suppose. Their example of voting was to go home afterwards and laugh about canceling out each others vote.
