Yes, this is an issue I side with conservatives\libertarians. Teacher unions are getting out of hand. Why complain when they earn more than average Americans? They get paid enough. Quit the whining

Teachers don't get paid enough when they have to discipline kids because their parents don't do it. It takes away from teaching the others. Teachers don't get paid enough when they have to spend their own money for classroom items because the school system can't afford it.
I'm sorry but I think your statement is ignorant because you speak without knowing all the facts. Oh, of course a youtube video

Parents can no longer discipline their children, the way it once was, when respect was very well established at a young age.
If you want CPS on your ass, discipline your kid, the only way that gets their attention and respect.

Ban the unions then let teacher's teach.

If the kids suffer bad parents, then put the defects together to move forward slower and let those that can shine as they can do so.

They are over compensated at this point. They are over protected and are NOT highly answerable to anyone. They keep backing politicians who will raise their pay. That is the basic problem with all unions in government. Ban all the unions in government. Leave the unions in private sectors.

So you expect teachers to discipline your child ......I don't think so. Not originally their job but apparently people think it is now. Parents need to teach respect but they don't anymore.

You are right.

Actually, beyond giving smaller kids thinking time there is no discipline allowed since there would be lawsuits everywhere.

Parents can't, unless they want CPS down their throat and on their ass.

There was a day, you got licks from the Principal or the coach. Those days are long gone!
Respect is earned, not given.

Teachers are not over compensated and yes they need a pay raise for all they do. They are expected to be teachers, parents, disciplinarians and counselors and so much more to their kids. They have overcrowded classrooms and limited resources to teach them. A lot of kids don't even speak english and some are special needs. Teachers do the best they can with what's given to them. They are only one person who gets crapped on by people who have no idea what they deal with on a daily basis.
