The debt commission assumed NOTHING, nor did they suggest increasing taxes, in fact they said just the opposite, that we need to spead the taxes.. Keep making excuses to justify Obamas failures...

With excruciating detail, the White House’s budget office on Friday laid out exactly where it will have to cut $109 billion from federal spending in January, including $11.1 billion from Medicare and $54.7 billion from defense spending.

The defense cuts include $21.5 billion from operations and maintenance for the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines and the reserves and National Guard, and nearly $1.4 billion from military aide to Afghanistan, with tens of billions coming from procurement and other Pentagon accounts.

The report leaves no question that the sequestration would be deeply destructive to national security, domestic investments, and core government functions,” the White House’s budget office said in the report.
It's called the "fiscal cliff" and our government put themselves in this spot due to not being able to control what they spend.

But of course we won't touch any foreign aid. $1.6 billion to Egypt, forgive another $1 billion in loans to Egypt and even buy them a German U-boat.
Only Americans must suffer these cuts to programs, agencies that personally effect them.

Betcha the millions if not billions in grants and pork don't get cut.

I guess this means Republicans will have to choose between their ideology and national security.

Obviously, they do and did have a plan.

And if you think it was just the Republicans then maybe you ought to watch:

Yup. Walking on the edge of the cliff was once seen as being crazy stupid. These days it has become official Republican policy. Says a lot about them, doesn't it?
