Apparently one year ago today, "Occupy Wall Street" held its first demonstration, demanding more government intrusion, taxes, regulations, and complaining that people with successful careers be punished and fined to pay for everything they want.
A year of trashing demonstration sites, breaking laws, getting in the way, overburdening police, and returning blank looks when asked what their purposes and goals were, is going to be "celebrated" today for some reason... and probably in ensuing days as their occasional participants belatedly realize something is going on.
Burned-out hippies from the sixties will try once again to be relevant to, well, something or someone. We're not sure why.
'Occupy' To Hit 40 'Corporate Targets' For Anniversary Protests - Disguised In 'Business Attire'
by Dan Gainor
September 16, 2012
On its one-year anniversary, Occupy Wall Street plans “occupations of corporate lobbies and intersections.” Handouts available on the group’s website list 40 “corporate targets” for action including such big names as Fidelity Investments, Federal Reserve Bank, and Standard & Poors. Protesters are encouraged to “wear business attire,” presumably so they can mix in with office workers.

The Occupy movement is an embarrassment. Whining, overblown sense of entitlement, utterly clueless. They destroyed whatever good will they might have had by doing things like shutting down ports, causing workers not to get paid. They're basically as dumb and misguided as the Tea Party, but lack the financial and organizational backing to turn it into a real political movement, so instead they're just a bunch of lazy entitled whiners with nothing better to do than make life difficult for people who are just trying to get by.
Gotta love the girl in this video who has given up getting a job to do Occupy crap full time:
Some of them are wearing 'business attire' to try and blend in but they didn't shower or delouse so you can still tell they're hippies.
I especially liked the part where they used $5,000 Macbooks, PCs, and iPhones to tell each other how much they hated corporations and would never support them.
And where they insisted they hated police, and that government must take from those who have, and give to those who didn't... but called police immediately when their own computers etc. got stolen.
... demanding more government intrusion, taxes, regulations, and complaining that people with successful careers be punished and fined to pay for everything they want.
So... you're saying that the reason the financial industry tanked, driving the entire economy into the crapper known as "The Great Recession", and would have collapsed completely without a socialist [] government bailout was that the poor bankers and stock brokers were suffering from too oppressive government oversight, taxes, and regulations? Wow... I thought they were considered "successful" because they "successfully" managed to take money from everyone else and get away with it. How wrong I've been all these years...
The group’s website claims that on Sept. 17, they “will occupy Wall Street with non-violent civil disobedience and flood the area around it with a roving carnival of resistance.”
Well, hopefully they don't bring any 32-oz sodas...because that could really get them in trouble in New York.
