Bill Maher comes to mind, and he always seems to get a pass especially when it comes
to women & raciest commentary
And yet some suffer from the Biden syndrome;
In Delaware, the largest growth of population is Indian Americans, moving from India. You cannot go to a 7/11 or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking.
Joe Biden
Pretty tasteless remark made by the clown in my opinion, But Biden clearly states he's not joking !
Even a Liberal Constitutional Expert knows you can't have it both ways no matter how much
you deflect
Biden said about Obama, he is clean and articulate. Opposed to dirty and slang talk.
This is a good point worthy of discussion. Now I noted what I think of this particular joke but many other times there are claims of racism where someone simply is not aware of the context or are not aware of what is being discussed outside of their own perception.
The older story about people getting upset at a professor using the term *****rdly would be a good example of that.
Yes, you are right but the word that is not allowed is not spelled the same as *****rdly although many people don't understand that. I threw that in just to see what the forum computer would do with the proper spelling,
Well I guess I found out since the same thing happened to both of us. I wonder how many programmers even know what *****rdly means
There is a good link explaining the correlation between NG and black women. I am reluctant to post it without a mods permission as it does include examples of nudity. If one wants me to forward them the link first I would.
National Geographic had a long history of not having a problem showing pictures of naked blacks. Mostly African black women. Before pornography was so prevalent, it was a way young men would get a peak at breasts. They never showed white women though.
This is where the joke originates from. Not monkey's.

Yes, the asterisks are a good example of your point here.
I received a message that the link should be O.K. as long as it is noted that it is NSFW. It is NOT pornography but there are examples of naked people including children. These were pictures posted in National Geographic. (mostly)
It's an old story (1992) asking why it was O.K. to show naked blacks but not white's.
Again, it is NSFW and please do not click if you are offended by nudity.
Again, the joke is referencing this, not monkey's. I am also NOT arguing that it makes the joke any better. I do think it makes a good argument for perception of what is being said though. I can understand why some might perceive "monkey" if they were not aware of the history of NG.
Are you unaware of the old jokes concerning the topless women in Africa often shown in NG?
If you are young, it's likely that the joke is too old for you. That's not a knock on you.
I can see your point. I took that NG does articles about animals as well. Rush and others have called him a monkey etc. They just expanded it. to include Michelle. Anyway we see it it was still wrong.
... or lack of same. It seems that he made a remark that included two well known women and magazines that want to run articles with pictures of them. Well he got the racist crap from some and just some crap about not having freedom of speech at the rodeo. I guess you can see that I laughed heartily when I read this link.

Yes, I agree that crude jokes like this are a bad idea no matter the context.
Maybe you could tell me what was racist about that story. I just can't see racism in it. If you can't talk about people of two different races without the cry of racism coming out I think the clown has lost his freedom of speech. I see racism only the same way as most leaners see it from we conservatives when we don't brag about Obama.
Playboy (white woman) vs. National Geographic (black woman) - what rational explanation for this distinction can you offer?
The joke was obviously racist, if you can't see that you just might be a racist yourself.

National Geographic predates Playboy, and for years kids (and I suspect a few adults) used National Geographic as a means of pornography. The alledged joke told by the "clown" was in poor taste and bigoted in the sense that, as you mentioned, National Geographic only showed naked or partially clothed blacks and not whites.
