I don't hate taxes. I LOVE taxes. I've spent enough time in third-world hellholes to truly know the "joy" of a tax-free society. Everyone should spend some time in Haiti or Somalia. Then maybe they wouldn't whinge on about taxes. It will also give people renewed respect for the US Postal Service. "Wow, your mail gets where it's going almost all the time, and you don't have to bribe anyone?"

Furthermore, that link is the dumbest thing I've read. "Joe Student" who gambles $995,000 in Las Vegas. Seriously? Perhaps he should take that money and spend it on tuition. Or pool parties.

Haha. The joe student name is funny. What isn't funny is how it will affect me. Taxes are necessary yes, but do we really need more? How about the gov't just stops spending more than ever in history and pass a budget that actually solves the debt crisis?

Yes, I need to be taxed more. Double would be about right, I think.

I don't mind paying more taxes either. Just as long as the tax money is not abused and goes to the appropriate sources. Paying a couple dollars to drive on nice clean streets, have free public schools, decent infrastructure, fire fighters to call and police to do their jobs is a fair trade off.

Sorry Scoop, I don't share your vision. In your ideal world, we would be forced to put styrofoam in our windows, air conditioning set at 90, forced to hang our laundry all over the house to dry, and manhood would be defined by whether you buy boneless chicken or not. Higher taxes will not lead us to the land of rainbows and unicorns.
