This is just more pc nonsense that creates “Victimhood” of just about every group. Give it up and learn to live with other people’s opinions, needs, and ideas. Stop searching every corner of the earth for "victims” and you are not automatically a "victim" if everything doesn't go your way.
For crying out loud its a dance..a tradition decades old that I am sure many in the past before her couldn't attend for whatever reason but through some miracle managed to carry on with their lives...yet she alone felt special and entitled to this and being unable to participate in it makes her a "victim" or "inferior" or "punished" or "discriminated". The people screaming the loudest for "tolerance" and just want to be left alone can't seem to leave others alone and be tolerant themselves.

I have asked if I can check the "minority" box but have been told no, even though we are not the majority anymore.
If you are not the majority, then you are part of the minority.

Regardless, you know that was irrelevant to my point - since women & NON-whites were the ones lacking in freedoms until recent generations (and still to some degree).

Get over yourself, sir or ma'am. You are the one with the thin-skin regarding your "opinions, needs and ideas." No one is taking anything away from those fathers and daughters. They are still allowed to dance together, but now so is that girl without a father. The world doesn't revolve around daughters with fathers or vice versa. Just because other girls in the past were prevented from going because means nothing. They were treated unfairly and it took someone speaking out to change that. That's typically how it works in the United States. There is nothing irrational in bringing a discriminatory practice to light and remedying it.
