The murder of ambassador John Christopher Stevens serves as a disturbing reminder that the Arab Spring is far from a positive revolution. In many cases, overthrown dictators are being replaced with even worse governments. There is an increased Islamic extremist influence across the region. We are not responsible for what happened in Egypt, but we are responsible for the transition in Libya. Last year, Gaddafi accused those in the rebellion of being Islamic terrorists, vowing that more damage would be done to Libya once he fell. We dismissed those claims and supported the UN effort to overthrow him. What happened after he died? Many divisions in Libya, with tribes going at it and an attempted genocide of Black Libyans. It has been said that 100,000 of Libya's population (only around 4 or 5 million) have been killed since Gaddafi fell. Yesterday, Islamic militants, very strong in influence now and expected to play the biggest role in the "new Libya" got Stevens. In retrospect, Gaddafi was spot on with his prediction.
With reports of Al-Qaeda now being present in Syria, Syrian rebels attacking Syrian Christian civilians and forcing them to flee, and rebels massacring civilians just to try and frame the Assad Regime, I think it's high time we got our government to abandon the Syrian rebellion. It's not worth scoring a point against Iran, especially since Assad clearly enjoys the support of the majority of his people, which is why it's taken 18 months to do what was done in other Arab countries in days, weeks, or months at maximum. If we truly respect the will of the people, we'll leave Syria alone.
Ignoring the morality of Syria - which still doesn't favor the rebels - we should be concerned with this rebellion turning on us. History has shown that we've propped up terrorist organizations that in turn came after us. Islamic extremists are not toys. They are not to be played with.
I think Syria ought to be left alone.

The US ambassador and aides would still be alive if the views of fanatical religious extremists were dealt with swiftly and emphatically in their hate speech and deceptions that they employ continuously to justify their WAR in God's name.
A internet video twist by a Coptic Christian in America on the plight in Egpyt, and a malicious manipulation by a religious fanatic cleric to insight violence.

THAT is what happened.
So freedom of speech is to be banned unless the rhetoric is of your taste?
When these muslim radicals burn a bible should we launch an airstrike?
No what happened is Radicals found an excuse to act upon their hatred.

Seems to be. US freedoms should be suppressed in order to keep the Muslims happy.
It's no longer "tolerance of Muslims", it's become "Fear of Muslims".

Ok, so what should we do? Continue propping up tyrannical dictators, or just keep hands off the whole thing and have NO influence in how it turns out?
