I don't claim to understand the motivation of somebody who appears to be quite possibly not all there.
And I don't think you have the right to judge me as "either ignorant or racist" because of what I don't claim to know. Not denying the very real possibility it was intended as a racist statement, but it is so off the wall to me I simply don't know.
Don
So you wouldn't at least question this man's intentions? At the very least, what one rational person can do is question this man's intentions and even though it may have not been intentionally racist one could explain it to him how that could seem racist and offend many. I think at the very least we all could agree to that.
he is free to hang in it in his tree but I am free to see it as an agressive, vicious act of proxy violence.
South Side Chap, learn about the history of lynching in the south! Is the color orange a neutral color in Northern Ireland? Just because it is here, doesn't mean it doesn't have specific meaning elsewhere.
Anybody has a right to speak their mind and so do the many others questioning this man's political views. So I'm not exactly sure what you're point is.
It's also gotten ridiculous how any disagreement with or protest against the current president is automatically called out as racist. That is getting OLD. Nothing is different than it was with Bush, except in Bush's case the hateful depictions extended beyond a few crazies and into mainstream music videos and celebrities/entertainers.
bush was insulted because of the things that did that could have conscrewed as being blantantly stupid as opposed to Obama who was attacked solely because of something that he can not control....his skin color. I think that is so easy for someone that has never had to deal with racism to dismiss such acts. Grant, I do not defend everything that Obama does, but it is easy to tell a racial attack verses a political one and they are all not one and the same

Oh brother. There are plenty of people that think Obama's policy decisions are stupid. I don't like Obama, it has nothing to do with the color of his skin. While he is more articulate that GW,, both are politicians and there doesn't seem to be a great difference in their intellect in terms of reasoning power.

But unfortunately YOU are not everyone. Why does'nt occur to you and others that everyone does not think like you. Many people are voting against Obama and not for mitt, even if he clearly if it is against their own best interest, now why is that?

You are really ill-informed if you think that. So the criticisms over the unemployment rate, national debt, violence overseas, flip-flopping, etc. are all directly due to his skin color? Ridiculous.
Seems like being non-white these days is an advantage, if anything. Anytime anyone disagrees with you, just accuse them of being racist and then be done with it!

I never claimed everyone thought like me. Your statement implied that when people criticized Bush they had good reason but criticism of Obama was based on race. I was letting you know you are off base.
And who are YOU to decide what is against someone else's own best interest? You don't decide for me what is in my best interest, just like I don't decide for you or for my neighbor. I've read so much lately that if one is not in the top 1% it's not in his or her interest to vote for anyone but Obama. What a bunch of crap. You don't have to be rich to appreciate the free market and think the government taking more and more power is a scary proposition.

your blaming obama for the unemployment rate when the economy tanked the worst since the great depression a few months before he took office? not rational... national debt? it sky rocketed under bush and the collapse exasperated it (less revenues now). not rational... violence oversees? much worse under previous administration... not rational flip flopping? uh okay?
and then theres birtherism, communist marxist, hates america, terrorist sympathizer, trying to destroy america etc etc...
all the hate based on irrational thinking makes it look like something else.... RACISM!...
