Planes are lost in war. That's what factories are for. But I think it's time to tighten security on these bases.

Other members of Congress are past considering the options in the 11-year-old war and have decided that American fighting units have been in Afghanistan either long enough or too long. Rep. Bill Young (R-Fla.), chairman of the House Appropriations Defense subcommittee, is among them.

Maybe it has something to do with people facing the reality of the situation? One can only hope that Obama can come to terms with the reality of the situation, but that's only if he can come to terms with himself that he is NOT "God" and does NOT have all the answers to solving all the problems in the world.

He's still under the illusion that this world was delivered to him when he became president, and this world is a much better place now.

Agreed. On the other hand, no place can be made totally secure to a determined enemy.

What is the "reality of the situation" and how is that different today than previously?

Oh I see, that's why you wanted his clone named Obama elected.

I suppose that if Obama had just promised what he actually would deliver and had come out and in his campaign had promised that he would keep the wars going in the Middle East and even get us involved in some other messes over there, and kept unemployment rates high for Americans that many of you would have voted for him.

Before -- you know that other guy Bush -- well he at least came up with something about finding the weapons of mass destruction which he thought were in Iraq.

Now we really don't have any reason being given to explain why we're over there. Maybe Obama thinks the WMD were really being hidden in Afghanistan?

What better way to disenchant your allies than to tell them you're gonna abandon them at high noon so they have no incentive to watch your back but every incentive to take as many of you down with them before you hand their azzes over to the enemy.

Suppose I'm an Afghan National Army member approached by a Taliban member who informs me very succinctly: "We know where you live and where all your family live so here's the deal; redeem yourself in the eyes of Allah (and us) by performing this deed for us [ fill in the blank ] and we will forgive your transgression and spare your family when the evil satan western imperialists leave here and we once again resume absoslute control to rape and pillage as we please". What the hell would you expect the poor numbnuts to do?

Moron Obama couldn't have put your troops and those Afghannies in a worse position had he outright planned it.
Maybe the ANA could Shoot the Taliban like they are trained to do since if they can't even defend themselfs then why are we training them.

I mean maybe the ANA has to deal with the Taliban like we train them too and then let us (NATO ISAF) know that they had made contact with the Taliban and let us know know where and when and how many since that is what they should be doing.

You're really not making any sense here. The Constitution prevents ANY President from serving more than two elected terms. What do you not understand about that?

What other wars has he started in the Middle East? And, what does unemployment have to do with the subject at hand?
