"May have?" That's it?

That is no different than saying Obama "may have" applied to college as a foreign student.

PolitiFact's take on it:
Quote:
The trustee who managed Romney’s holdings has publicly confirmed that Mitt and Ann Romney had "approximately $3 million" in assets in a Swiss bank account between 2003 and 2010, and the Romney campaign did not object to that characterization when we contacted them for this story.

Swiss bank accounts may make good fodder for campaign commercials and Jason Bourne movies, but there's nothing to indicate Romney did anything illegal or improper with the account.

The best way to get rid of them, is vote them out of office.

Which ones? The military leeches, your grandparents who are leeches, student leeches, or single mother leeches?

3. EVERYONE on social security disability should be re-evaluated and stiffer requirements made

4. Make total social security payouts per year fixed, such that voter outrage will occur from increases in social security disability.

6. Require public service work hours in exchange for foodstamps/welfare payments

7. end subsidized government housing projects

8. Restrict the aid to dependent children program to two children

9. Limit the amount of income that a single family on welfare disability can receive to 10% above the poverty line.

10. Eliminate "drug dependency" as an allowed criteria for disability

11. Limit the kinds of foods foodstamps can purchase (kind of like generic drugs). No products that are in the top 50% in cost per unit value relative to other items.

............... Just a start- there are too many bums in America and the democrats want to create more, such that they will have thier vote for life. Give a man a fish or teach him to fish?

Food stamps aren't working. It would be better to shut down the entire program and replace it with feeding centers. Since the schools now are the primary feeders of children with 2 free meals provided, just extend the cafeteria hours 2 hours and give them dinner too.

Around here the schools are considered feeding centers more than anything else, they allow the public to come eat at the school and also keep them open all summer. They could also give prepared meals out at the welfare clinics, the WIC clinics and so on but they should make sure the parents actually bring along the kids.
Sorry for the long delay...

I agree, food stamps are not working. However, I was responding to a call to curtail any and all aid in an attempt to make the "leeches" disappear - and approach that is simply short-sighted. Not to mention inhumane and one that will, not might, lead to a sharp increase in crime and/or riots.

In other words, I was not trying to defend the current system but simply pointing out the idiocy of the suggestion at hand.
