I imagine our government would've seriously been violently overthrown and replaced. Reagan was pretty much Herbert Hoover but in a different context that benefitted him.

Whatever dude. You're reinforcing the stereotype that Republicans just repeat the same propaganda over and over hoping people will eventually believe it to be true.

I would respect your post if you were making a reasoned and insightful comment, but you offered nothing but a wish list of what you hope Reagan would have done as president during the 1930s, without any regard to realistic historic context. You basically just listed a bunch of your fantasies. Fine. Just don't expect anyone to take it seriously, because - like it or not - you're the one who wrote a hysterical rant...I just acknowledged it in kind.

During the Great Depression FDR had millions of gallons of milk dumped out to try and push up milk prices. Also, he had hogs, cows, chickens destroyed in the same failed attempt to raise the price livestock. This went on while millions of Americans were starving.

These are facts and the true legacy of FDR and the Democrats/Liberals/Progressives failed attempts to "help" the economy during the Great Depression.

It doesn't matter. WW2 would have solved the labor surplus dilemma no matter who was in office.

Labor surplus?

How about job shortage?

When all of FDR's BS economic theories crashed and burned for the eighth straight year, he punted by reinstating the military draft in 1940.

FTR, the unemployment rate the year before the draft began pulling millions of able bodied young men out of the workforce was still 17.3%.

Regan during the 30ies campained for FDR!!!

Basically Regan wanted to undo LBJ's social programs and roll things back to a 40ie's level of Government socail programs rather than a 60ies level. The great society of LBJ brings things like Medicare, Medicaid, WIC and so on. Thoose he felt were too far.

People were starving not becuase they had money and could not afford food. People were starving because they had no money. The dust bowl reduced crops which in in turn meant that famers who were hit with it had no money(and many of them were attempting to sell their live stock to get money). I don't think hand outs would have worked either(and I don't think conservative like you would have supported that either).

Care to explain why FDR's unemployment rate never dropped below 14% until after the draft was reinstated?

Either one works just fine. If there are not enough jobs available, you officially have a labor surplus. If consumers were spending money, creating a need for more jobs, the problem would have solved itself. FDR entered office with a set of problems he did not create. Those problems stemmed from years of rising GDP due to debt/credit spending, with stagnating wages not supporting such growth. Keynesian economics don't work during depressions, which is why it's funny to watch bonehead dems and dreamers try.
