Do you know the cost to build a new power plant?

What about the cost of converting a coal fired plant to natural gas?

I also notice that you didn't address Ted Kennedy's opposition to a wind farm or how liberals wont allow a nuclear plant to dump it's waste or even live near one.
What world do you live in? The pipeline has indeed harmed nature with thier spills and interuption of migration paths. Only a closed minded oil lover would not admit that. So would you volunteer to have a nuclear plant dump its waste in your yard? Or how about an oil pipeline running right over your water supply?

I have been in the same apartment for 25 years, I started with a budget of 32.00 a month for my electric.

Other than a computer, I have the same everything, and my budget is now 92.00 a month for electricity.

This is insanity.

The electric rates are completely insane.

the gas bill only went up from 12 dollars to 16 dollars in 25 years, I am on the budget plan for that as well.

Get your own Obama Phone and you can defray some of those electrical costs.

Glad I don't live in New York... I never have to use my A/C or heater.

My power bill averages about $60.00 per month, and hasn't changed recently.

I'm going to have to try that. My mother's water/electric is $286 every two months.

AND SHE DOESN'T EVEN LIVE THERE!!!!!!!!!!

Wow. That is some cheap electricity. Unfortunately, most people pay way more than that monthly for electric and water can be quite high also.
United States Electricity Rates...

Believe this is old data.

Think this is newer info in pdf.

This I believe could be newer. Many places have noticed increases, that I am aware.

she needs to make sure they read the meters a lot of the workers are scammers and it's good if she has family that can read those, members of my family did when i was younger they tried to gouge my dad more than once...and if not they a lot of times will do free estimates to see what the problem is...there's sometimes a problem with the outlets where a lot of the electricity goes out of the socket and not into the appliance so it costs more money to run things, etc.
