I think a lot of the anti-Gay in this thread fail to realize that with DADT a person could be dishonorably kicked out just for BEING Gay, not for any real conduct detrimental.
They realize that. They believe being gay is a choice, one that leads to gays in the military molesting "straight" service men. Anti-gays want them all forcibly removed.

That's absurd, they don't think that anymore then they think straight men will be molesting women.
However, by introducing women into the military, some service member have been disciplined for improper conduct, fraternization, harassment ect... People are ignorant if they do not think the same sorts of problems would not occur between gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and straights. It's human nature for some people to fail to maintain proper discipline where different lifestyles collide, or where sex is involved.
I wonder why this is such an issue for the American military, unlike the other civilized countries.
Somehow, I think that a lot of people in this country (the religious mafia, in particular) would love it if we were more like the Middle East--except for having a different official religion.

We know the American Taliban better as the Religious Right that has permeated into the Republican party and warped it from what they truly were.
Who cares what orientation a man or woman if they end up defending the US Constitution and the establishments that are in place to ensure the document keeps working the way it is?

The irony is, the tens of thousands of sexual assaults that occur in the military are almost exclusively committed by the straight service men (even against other guys), yet apparently it's the gays who are the problem.
