The United States is "drowning in unemployment," its economy is running at stall speed and inflation is "not a problem," but easier monetary policy is not the answer, one of the Federal Reserve's most hawkish policymakers said on Friday.
"We've had a recovery that is quite disappointing," Dallas Fed President Richard Fisher told a group at the University of Texas at Dallas.
But without more certainty on tax policy and regulation, he said, "all the monetary accommodation in the world" will not get businesses hiring again.

Hey Obama...Keep up the great job....

Most of us already know that we are drowning, the middle income families, have not been helped by Obama, as he claims, it is the opposite.

I know so many who are still unemployed, yes they are looking, putting in their resumes, but if the jobs are not coming for them, what are they to do.

It is sad, because once again, the fools will put their faith in Obama for another 4 yrs, and they too, will be fooled once again. And they too, can be most definite one of the unemployed.

The choices are, as I have said for years:

#1 Government jobs that make stuff we need.

#2 deep regressive tax cuts.

#3 debt reductions.

The banks were not going to lend. They are not lending. They will not be lending. You would think a sane population of people would come to the conclusion that too much debt is not solved by more debt. Yet this is what people are saying. They say lets cut the deficit , pay down the national debt and wait for the private economy to borrow more money from the banks.

Their solution is to pump up asset prices and drive up the costs of doing business. High rents for workers who can't work for any less than $20 an hour just to pay their rent is clearly the answer we have had for 4 years.

Yet Obama gives 1.8 million illegal immigrants the right to remain here with work permits and orders Homeland Security not to deport anymore (whom most likely are holding jobs here) unless they are felons. Go figure!

I have been following Fisher and though I am no fan of the FR I have come to the reality they are not going away. With that said if Romney somehow wins the WH I think Fisher would be a excellent pick. It seems anything Barnanke does Fisher is against, it would be interesting to see what a opposite approach would do to the economy. Thoughts ?
