Not entirely coincidentally, most of Europe has a much lower obesity rate than the U.S. does.
Even places like Italy with high obesity rates have lower rates of chronic illness. And the people who made the "sugar is sugar" HFCS commercial should be in prison.

Obama nomintated the biggest GMO guy he could find in Vilsack to run the dept of Ag. Good luck stopping Monsanto because your government isn't on your side in the least.

the problem I had with this vote against gmo and monsanto, is that monsanto declared a win for themselves when only 1% of the vote was counted.

While Monsanto might not be going away any time soon, you can shop as non-GMO as possible by using this guide:

It was a very close call with companies like Monsanto and ADM doing a media blitz right before election day making all sorts of false claims like it would be the end of the economy if a can of corn had to have the words "this product contains GMO". My guess is in another four years such a bill will pass as people won't be so easily fooled.

I was at Central Market the other day (a overpriced but great supermarket that has everything you could ever want) and there was a line in front of a man outside with a clipboard. What was it? A petition to get I-522, an initiative to label GMO foods, on the ballot in Washington State

Label It Wa I-522 LABEL GMO Foods "The People's Right To Know Genetically Engineered Food Act" of Washington State

They can buy the politicians, but those bastards can't buy the people. If and when we pull this off in Washington it will be a big blow to them and you can count on other states like Oregon joining in.

I'm guessing it will pass. The voters in other Western states are taking over in passing forward-thinking legislation where California (formerly the pioneer) has dropped the ball.

This company should be burned to the ground.

If anyone hasn't watched Food Inc., I HIGHLY recommend it.

That explains a lot!

I would also recommend watching "Food Inc". You can watch it for free all over the internet.

Anybody who thinks that GMO's are not hurting America has their heads up their asses. Look at the rise in Autism, Chrons Disease, Gluten allergies... I could go on and on. Funny thing, the rises in all these diseases follow the rise in GMO's in our food.
I personally can eat flour from Europe with no bad effects. Not flour from America, full blown Chrons. The only difference is America's is GMO. Oh, and Monsanto is killing our bees. When they are gone, so will we. Think about it.
