You certainly spout a lot of stuff without actually saying anything.

I seriously doubt anybody driving an SUV gives one second of envious thought about bicycle idiots. Maybe you don't realize that those of us driving cars could also ride a bike but we CHOOSE not to.

And those silly pointy helmets don't exactly portray a picture of intelligence. So yes, we let the bicycle idiots follow the herd and watch them wallow in their self importance. Meanwhile, we enjoy life in a high speed car in the fast lane.

I would pay good money to watch someone bicycle the commute I make daily. Particularly when it is -40°F and the snow is blowing sideways.

It is just a matter of time before America becomes bike-friendly like the Netherlands! This is some exciting news! There are several American urban planners who are being sent to the Netherlands to study ways to make American cities like the Netherlands- This video almost brought tears to my eyes, but even if you think bikes are stupid, watch the video and at least educate yourself on the subject. America in the year 2030 will look like the Netherlands

Not a chance. The Netherlands is tiny compared to even one US State, smaller than West Virginia, but bigger than Maryland. We have glaciers in Alaska that are larger than the Netherlands.

Clearly you have no comprehension of the size difference between the US and Europe.

I was comparing obesity rates in countries like Germany and the Netherlands-where walking and riding a bicycle is widespread and they are about 10%. The United States will have obesity rate of 75% by the year 2020.

Something has definitely gone wrong here!
Most places here are not bike/walk friendly. The City of Chicago and the inner ring suburbs are here but when you get out any farther like Arlington Heights where we are, you will not find bike lanes or even sidewalks in many places. And if you try to ride a bike chances are your life will be short.

It is changing but it will take a very very long time. But more gen Y people want walking/biking communities and are rejecting the xurbs for that reason. And builders are starting to respond to the taste of their future buyers.

Why does it cost trillions of dollars for train??? Countries like Poland or China or India can have trains. Do you think they spent trillions of dollars??? Well when US spends trillions of dollars on useless wars in useless middle east countries, then you guys keep quiet.

Product distribution is quite complex and involves moving products from millions of sources to millions of destinations.

If we could get the government out of transportation the market would tell us when trucks are best and when rail is the best alternative.

Why are they driving so much less? Because they don't have jobs and their parents can't afford to put them on their insurance! That's why they don't have cars either, cuz they can't afford to buy them!
