For several years I have been predicting an implosion of low-wage workers who will be squeezed between rising rents, energy prices, fuel prices, food prices, and healthcare prices.
They will first give up health insurance if they have it, and then will cut back in other areas, but ultimately will face unaffordable commutes (because they won't be able to afford to live close to their jobs) and unaffordable rents (which will prevent them from living close to their jobs).
They will double up in housing with parents or others, they will work unreported side hustles, they will work jobs under the table, they will mooch off others.
