Of course they would ban it. It's where a majority of those freaks live. Homosexuality is a behavior that can be remedied by not acting on perverse thoughts, but practice makes perfect right?

Straight from the APA.

There is no consensus among scientists about the exact reasons that an individual develops a heterosexual, bisexual, gay, or lesbian orientation. Although much research has examined the possible genetic, hormonal, developmental, social, and cultural influences on sexual orientation, no findings have emerged that permit scientists to conclude that sexual orientation is determined by any particular factor or factors. Many think that nature and nurture both play complex roles; most people experience little or no sense of choice about their sexual orientation.

Despite almost a century of psychoanalytic and psychological speculation, there is no substantive evidence to support the suggestion that the nature of parenting or early childhood experiences have any role in the formation of a person’s fundamental heterosexual or homosexual orientation (Bell and Weinberg, 1978).

It would appear that sexual orientation is biological in nature, determined by genetic factors (Mustanski et al, 2005) and/or the early uterine environment (Blanchard et al. 2006). Sexual orientation is therefore not a choice, though sexual behaviour clearly is.

This can be a two way street, so California needs to show they acted for medical reasons, not trying to impose their morality on right wing Christians.
They have. The Bill was supported by all the major health organizations. It had nothing to do with 'imposing morality on right-wing Christians'. It's about protecting children from medical practices that have been proven to be ineffective, unnecessary and harmful.

Interestingly, while adults (over 18) can still choose to undergo this 'therapy' themselves, licenced 'therapists' are also required to get clients to sign informed consent forms. This includes providing clients with evidence-based information from the major health organizations, not just non-evidence based religious propaganda. Perhaps those 'therapists' who still practice this quackery, should actually read that evidence-based information themselves first.

Like what?

Here's the State's first problem

Neither of these therapies have any scientific evidence to back them up, other than some possible placebo affect.

Although, the State could argue people are free to buy non-effective medical services, but not medical services that are actually harmful.

And that's where they draw the line.
Can't say that I know much about acupuncture but I just found this:

2010 "New research finds that the natural compound adenosine, known for its anti-inflammatory properties, floods tissue that is punctured or aggravated, and may be the secret ingredient in acupuncture"

What truth? I'm assuming you mean the so called truth in the bible, but there is far more fiction than truth in that old book.
