there is a double standard going on here, as some posters have already pointed out.

and that is, would anyone have a problem if a man accepted money for sex from a woman?

most assuredly not, is the likely answer here!

and he would likely be applauded by his male buddies as some kind of hero.

so, if a girl were to offer me money to have sex with her, I would surely say yes.

what is wrong with that?

seems fair enough to me.

It is as if Christian morality is forcing the supposed atheists to abide by its outdated morality.

But what girl would pay a guy for sex? Its not a double standard because your example its an extreme anomaly.

it sure happens!

as far as I know there is quite a large scene in Jamaica, where middle aged women pay to have beach hunks.

It really does go on, gigolos etc, I even had a friend who did it twice , for $200 each time.

He gained a lot of credit down the bar with that action.

If she's exchanging sexual services for money or goods; she is, by definition, a prostitute. That certainly doesn't mean she's damaged in any way. I think the sex-worker industry (even if it's done on a freelance basis) is a perfectly legitimate pursuit for an adult when entered into by responsible choice, and when one has prepared themselves for the potential cultural and social repercussions.

Worldwide, the female customer/male prostitute model is the fastest growing segment of the prostitution industry---even though it rarely gets discussed. Aside from your example (Caribbean islands are the primary choice of American and Canadian women), there are numerous women in The UK and other more affluent European nations who travel to Greece and Spain for the same purpose. I would guess that it's a combination of factors at play: women today are less likely to be married, they have a greater sense of sexual freedom, and their growing numbers in the professional classes provide them with more disposable income.

He said "GIRL", you are talking about middle aged women - not the same thing AT ALL.

If I did it, I would be damaged from that point on.. Not as a woman, but as myself.

I also don't believe it is just ok, if it were, it would not be against the law in so many places.

The law is steeped in Christian or other orthodox moralities, and is usually a hangover from past eras in which religion reigned supreme.

time to do away with all that and move forwards.
