How about explaining how your statement is true? I keep wondering how people who get all they paid into income tax withholding back and many get even more that they didn't pay in. I think that too many of that 47% just don't pay anything and get back money that they didn't pay in.
I don't think government is the answer, but I do think it needs to be more active, stop being abused by lobbyist groups, and serve ALL of society again. If it had done that, it would not have allowed such severe gaps to develop in the first place, thus there would not be a need for redistribution.

Since you want so badly to bring in those of the evil Republican world into your discussion points how about talking about the wealthy Democrat congressmen? Can't bring yourself to do that can you?
anyone who thinks that half the country doesn't pay any tax is factually wrong, first off. We've debated this ad nauseum. (to the point of nausea, or sickness)
so when he repeats something factually wrong for the sake of making a political argument for his "team", that's foolish in my book. Hence why I call him a fool.

There were wars and heavy depressions in effect during many of your high periods. We have no war now because our government refuses to let us talk about a war on terror anymore. Hell, our government won't even say the word terrorist in talking about them. Does any of this make any sense?
