And the tax holidays, 10+ years of them are a miserable failure too.

I read your post, and some others too, and know exactly where you're coming from.
I'm not deflecting anything, I'm making talking points.

No because corporate America does need to be called out about their foreign investments, and the french are doing it, and at least they have the guts to do it. Corporate America has put Americans out of work.

Do you believe that people like rommy got rich by being a goody 2 shoes?
He is not part of the solution, he is part of the problem, which is what the french are talking about, the evil rich. The koch brothers are also guilty of being evil rich.

75%?

Wow!

That's almost as high as the upper income brackets every single year from 1936 to 1964 in the United States!
(and they were above 80% from 1940 thru 1963)
(and they were above 90% from 1944 to 1945 [peaking at an all-time high of 94%], and again from 1950 thru 1963)

Historical Top Tax Rate

Now, I wasn't around in the 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s, so maybe someone can tell me -- were people like the OP running around whining and sniveling about the "war on the evil rich" back then, or were they more sane?

How about explaining how your statement is true? I keep wondering how people who get all they paid into income tax withholding back and many get even more that they didn't pay in. I think that too many of that 47% just don't pay anything and get back money that they didn't pay in.

Stop being abused by lobbyist groups, you say? That can only be done if we do as our President promised to do when he said lobbyists won't be allowed in his White House. He made the promise and is now buried in lobbyists who he too often listens to.

Since you want so badly to bring in those of the evil Republican world into your discussion points how about talking about the wealthy Democrat congressmen? Can't bring yourself to do that can you?

well, my statement was that he was a fool

it was based on his comment:

anyone who thinks that half the country doesn't pay any tax is factually wrong, first off. We've debated this ad nauseum. (to the point of nausea, or sickness)

so when he repeats something factually wrong for the sake of making a political argument for his "team", that's foolish in my book. Hence why I call him a fool.

There were wars and heavy depressions in effect during many of your high periods. We have no war now because our government refuses to let us talk about a war on terror anymore. Hell, our government won't even say the word terrorist in talking about them. Does any of this make any sense?
